Citroen C15 turbo conversion

Post by Bsim9751 »

Hi,
I've been fitting an xud engine from a 306 d turbo into my little c15 over the last week or so, tacking problems as they come (which is thick and fast!). The engine is in and running, plumbed up, wires sorted, gear linkage adapted, exhaust is kind of there, but the latest fantastic problem is driveshafts. The splines on the C15 driveshafts don't fit into the 306 gear box so i've been to the breakers and got some driveshafts and hubs from a d turbo. "Problem solved!" i thought. But as it turns out, problem not solved. They're to long. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Ben

If the inner CVs are the same, you should be able to fit the TD inners to the C15 shafts (or have someone do it).

It looks like 205 driveshafts might fit, and they are available for the be3 gearbox. But check first.

Ok thanks for the advice. My worry is, though, that the c15 shafts are quite a bit thinner than the d turbo ones. Would I end up with snapped shafts considering the difference in bhp? Are the 205 shafts thicker than my c15 ones?

Any 205 with the BE3 transmission should have strong enough shafts (not sure if this was only the mk2 GTI, or if others had this box)

You might find some useful info here: http://websworld.org/marcel/309/tech/shafts.html
or here: http://car-parts.mister-auto.co.uk/en/d ... g13_ls196/ (click on the links for each engine type for details).
