Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi folks, Noticed the if I turn the air con on in Citroen Synergie 2.0 HDi the air coolant light flashes on the dashboard just replaced temp sensor for new one. any ideas why this is happening or a solution? SkyWelder

Filled my screen wash up the other day and after a few minutes most of it was running down the street. Enough left in for a couple of uses, so I am thinking washer bottle has a leak near the bottom. I gather you remove the wheel arch liner to get at it, is it an easy job to remove it for repair or replacement if needed?

Has done over 100k miles, am planning to put a 5w40 synthetic in, was thinking of going with some carlube triple R from GSF as it's under £25 for 5 litres.

What would people recommend?

I bought my Xantia HDi exclusive year last november, so comming up to two years. When I bought the car it had 156k on the clock, and had recently just had the four CORNER spheres replaced..

Now recently, the front is getting not hard, but bouncy onthe front... I dont like it! Its not the electro valves as the car has the E Crofting kit,...

Car has been fine for a year, now i'm having trouble starting. What it is is i can start it eventually but need to keep the key turned, it will just keep cranking intill it reluctantly fires up.
First things first i've changed the battery for a new agm beast of a thing this morning hoping to have some luck with it. It still keeps cranking over...

I'd also check that the glow plugs are OK. Remove the wiring harness and check each one for continuity. Never assume a new component is perfect - many of 'em aren't!

Ive been searching for a Lexia device to use on my 08 C5 2.0HDi Exclusive but some say they are not compatable with this vehical. Does anyone know if this is true or which Lexia System works on the C5s? Can I turn off the Tyre Pressure Sensors using the Lexia?

The PAS pipe on mums Hdi rusted through recently resulting in a leak and it was right on the angled pipe right as is comes out of the rubber flexi section.. ok. just broke an s2 that didn't leak.. cleaned the surface rust up clean and tidy.. so proceeded to change them over.. got the old one off and wriggled the replacement in.. all looking good.....

To add to that - you can put in your VIN and get the build spec and see the parts list relevant to your year/model etc. The exploded parts diagrams in the free area are not a workshop manual per se, but they do give some very good clues about how things fit together. Well worth a look.

Got to say this is a new one on me, and I've had 2 of them. It puzzled me that much that I went outside to look at mine and I have nothing on the A Pillars, either inside or out. to say I'm curious would be an understatement. Pictures would help :wink:

A quick way of telling if the engine is a 2.2 is that the car has a fixed spoiler,...

Okay I had mentioned this previously. But it's worse. As mentioned before all suspension lights come on with beeps (seems to happen most when lights put on or main beam on) . Airbag light on always. The indicarors are playing up but worse and why i need this sorted, the headlights are coming on by theirself and scarier go off as you are driving....

The breakers are probably just using the numbers that are printed on the back of the switch which are not the Citroen part numbers.
The problem you have is to find an exact match because they're all different according to the spec. i.e. LX,SX, Exclusive, etc.

If you can provide the VIN and RPO numbers one of the Citro boys on here may come up...

Hello Guys
Have had an issue with my Air Bag warning light now for quite a while so had a quiet weekend a while back and set to for a look but to no avail :( .
Passenger footwell connectors have been bypassed, removed both front seats and checked all connectors there but all look ok. Also tried to remove the steering wheel as mentioned on here but...

It's not too bad Boris, there are no screws or glued together bits it all clicks apart and back together, the biggest problem is getting all the switch contacts lined up and held while you click the top back on, you need a jig or more than one pair of hands.

Hi my 2004 2.2 Hdi Auto stopped on the motorway with no warning lights on the dash the aa plugged in the computer and says it is the cam sensor this part has been changed but the car still wont start, the fuel pumps are working with pressure at the rail the battery was disconected at some point Could this be an imobiliser problem ?

Engine pumps on Hdi or not that.. they are not a pump hence an electric lift pump in the fuel tank. they are actually a fuel rail pressurizer ... and no they are not timed..

No hdi cam locking needed any more then one bolt to lock them... remove the starter to reveal the flywheel timing hole. A 6mm Allen key fits in perfectly..

the cam lock does...

Opening or closing the doors should not trigger a pump run signal so 0.75v seen when opening / closing doors is probably just transient noise.
The pump should only run if either the rear or front suspension is not to commanded height. Without the aid of a Lexia which allows you to drive the motor independently the best way is to select low...

Just completed the first half of a little jaunt. Inverurie, in Aberdeenshire, to Woking, Surrey, via Lowestoft in Suffolk.
Total miles so far 726.
Returning a slightly low 39.7 MPG, but the car is fully laden with luggage. Not a spare centimetre in the boot, and some stuff in the back as well. The MPG might also have been affected by a slightly...

MPG showing at just under 39. Fantastic motorway miles (app 1500) plus 200 A road and the remainder Surrey local and Greater London.
Horrendous rain from Manchester to Carlisle on the M6 on Sunday and a good dry run from Carlisle North.
An excellent trip and arrived home feeling as if I had just driven 100...

Would removing an egr valve affect or have any long term issues . I had one removed years ago on a 1.9td xantia and it ran better , just not sure about the modern diesels with their tendency to put the engine management light on at the drop of a hat . Thanks

OK car is an early s2 1.9 TD Exclusive with IIRC an AL-4 box (that's 100% BTW)
which has the sport/snow button. The crank is goosed.

Can anyone say 100% whether I can expect to unplug the rotten bottom end on this engine
and plug another from a manaul gearbox car in it's place after transfering the flywheel over
so the torque plate is mounted...

hi i have no kick down on the c5 i have had it plugged into lexia but when you press the acc pedal all the way down lexia keeps saying
status of kickdown open could anyone tell m the posistion of the switch i have had a quick look around the pedal but cannot see anything

Hi all, New to Citroens and new to here but have been reading through the forums and you all seem really helpful :)

I have just purchased a 1998 Xantia 1.9SD Temptation 2 and it has quite a large puddle (above carpet level) in the passenger footwell and the blower (de-mister) doesn't work.

Hello all,

I have had a few hours playing about with my lexia on the C6. I was able to scan, identify various faults, clear most, rescan to confirm they were gone etc.

However, within the injection menu I was unable to navigate to clear the faults and rescan as I would have wished. The ecu is SID_201. After a notification screen informing me...

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I know the log you speak of. I haven't cleared it yet, as I took a little video on my mobile cycling down through them all (for records!) Most were silly things, and the log was full so, come to think of it, I should have returned to clear that log afterwards.

Hi,

We are searching for a front Rubber Hydraulic pipe from a Xantia VSX, it is the rubber pipe that runs from the front accumulator to the metal hydraulic tubing that then runs all the way around the back of the engine to the pwr steering.

apparently it musy be a VSX one as the pressures involved in the other models do not require the same size...

I thought it only fair to return to this thread and post that the High Pressure connectors found in the link above are M12 in thread size but not compatable with the citroen hydraulic pressure lines.
My Father took the connectors with the hose to Martin at Pleiades Citroen specialists who then cut the connectors drilled them out and retapped...

hi guys, i have a 2004 c3 hdi desire - and I was wondering if I could fit cruise control to it. I know some of the c3 exclusives had cruise but the buttons were on the steering wheel? can you just fit the usual cruise stalk? i took the cowling off today and removed the blanking plug but cant see where the electrical connection would go?

any help...

I fitted cruise to my daughters C3, as mentioned plug in the stalk then activate it using a Lexia, not difficult if you have knowledge of using Lexia.

Hi I have a 2.2 hdi with 106k miles it seems to have a knocking / tapping nose coming from the engine at idle speed and goes away after around 1200k revs there is no loss of power a friend sugested it is piston slap if so is this a serious issue ? hope someone can help

That's normal :roll:
Intermediate high is just there for decorative purposes only :lol: I've never known it work as you might reasonably expect it to on any Xantia I've known...

Interesting. On the green estate, Intermediate does work in that it is (just) measurably lower than Service High - more at the front than the back and I too have...

calling all D experts,

i have been asked to help get a1971 D Pallas injection and running that has been dry stored and parked up since 1988,

i would like a blow by blow list of what to check in sequence of relevance, and were to locate components,

and which pin to test and for what

Malcolm is right,there is a unattached pipe there too.

It's for measuring backpressure. I have a bung in the exhaust, pre-cat which is presently plugged. The tube screws in there and I connect a pressure gauge to the top and rest it on the scuttle for driver's visibility.

Makes sense, I took the black pipe at the back to either be the LHM...

Yesterday, the two lights of the S and the snow flake on my 2001 petrol xantia began to flash and the led that shows the selector position ran from position to another, I think it was that way for an hour or two. today, when I've started the car, it was as it didn't happend at all. no lights and normal.

I have been looking for a set for my C5 for a long time now but finding leather from a C5II is not easy.

Has anyone fitted a leather interior from an early C5 into a facelifted version?

Do all pressure regulators regulate to the same pressure ? Is there any data that link the pressuer regulator part number to the pressure it regulates to ?

no it wont affect pressure output at all, i wouldnt have thought the two part numbers are interchangeable, the only difference between regulators is the number of fluid ports (sinker/anti sink) and thread pitch of the ports and the type of seat for the main feed pipe as Jim said so if its a different part number then it will be because of one of...

On my BX ('92 TXD break) the rev counter, the odometer and the trip counter stopped working, i.e. they aren't moving at all.
The trip counter can't even be zeroed by pressing the button.
