I bought a Lexia from Easy Diagnostics a couple of years ago to trace faults in my Xantia HDI which never seemed to work as it should, even Jim Duddy from Easy Diagnostics couldn't get it to work as it should although he tried, saying that the car was too old so I just gave up,as I was about to sell the car but the door open beeper was sounding so Mandrake kindly came over to fix it for me which he did but told me that my Lexia was not working,I now have a C3 Diesel so I would like to know if the Lexia could be fixed, this is the second one I have bought so I wont be buying another.I apologize for such a long story
Cheers

Re: lexia help
Have you tried them both on the C3?
What happens exactly when you try them?

Re: lexia help
I visited Alan with my laptop a few weeks ago with my known good install of Diagbox 7.02 - unfortunately at the time I didn't have my own Lexia interface with me as RichardW was borrowing it.
I could not get my laptop/software to communicate with the car with Alan's interface - the computer detected the interface fine over the USB connection and authenticated with it in the Lexia app - showing the connection between the computer and interface was normal, however I could not get any dialogue with either my Xantia or Alan's.
On the cable that goes to the car (the round plug to the OBD-II connector) we tried both the cable that came with the easydiagnostics interface as well as the cable that came with his previous (group buy) Lexia - no dialogue using either. I didn't have my cable available to try but I think it's unlikely that both cables are faulty.
So from what I've seen my conclusion is the interface itself must be faulty. When I got my Lexia back from Richard it was working fine with my Diagbox install so software is definitely ruled out, and as my interface is also an easydiagostics one it's not going to be a compatibility problem.
Unfortunately Alan is in the situation where the interface is now out of warranty but failed within warranty and easydiagnostics were notified within warranty it was not working and was not able to get it working properly for him within the warranty period thinking it was a software/laptop problem - a bit of a sticky situation! It seems unlikely that it could be repaired, only replaced.

Re: lexia help
Is it possible the fuse that manages the diagnostics port has failed? Has it been checked? In manual X2-GB-4001 fuse F15 manages the CPH, Diagnostics port, and the hydractive suspension (but as the car is an SX, the hydractive suspension wouldn't be fitted).

Re: lexia help
As long as it was reported in warranty it should be ok, easydiagnostics are known for being very good with customer service so I'd take the shot and ship it down to them
could be a corrupt firmware inside the units maybe?

Re: lexia help
No it's not that - I tested Alan's interface on my Xantia as well as his, and my Xantia's diagnostic port does work... (I was using it just yesterday with my interface successfully)Hell Razor5543 wrote:Is it possible the fuse that manages the diagnostics port has failed? Has it been checked? You would think so. Problem is Alan has tried to contact easy diagnostics about this recently and can not get a response...KP wrote:As long as it was reported in warranty it should be ok, easydiagnostics are known for being very good with customer service so I'd take the shot and ship it down to them

Re: lexia help
Have they gone out of business then?
Maybe it needs testing on another machine with diagbox installed?

Re: lexia help
Or maybe changed hands. It's nearly 2 years since I've had any dealings with Jim, he lived not far from me and I nearly went to pick up my Lexia in person when I bought it but due to timing I ended up getting it by courier instead.KP wrote:Have they gone out of business then?
Oi - keep up!Maybe it needs testing on another machine with diagbox installed?
While its quite possible Allan had software issues on his laptop originally the interface is definitely faulty too. I can easily help him get any remaining software issues sorted out on his laptop but I can't do anything about the interface itself - it needs replacing, then we can try to sort out any remaining problems (if any) on the laptop.

Re: lexia help
Jim is definitely still in the owner of EasyDiagnostics.
I bought one last week but I am having trouble getting to grips with it.
It definitely works on Xantia HDi.
Text or call him on the mobile on his website. He should respond. I think he charges for support outside of the 1 year though.
It comes across as very helpful.
Recently, he did not have any listings on Ebay so I had thought, initially, that maybe he had gone through but he is a long standing diagnostics expert so he won't leave the game for no reason.
