Can someone:

Tell me if these have a DMF ? (hopefully not!)

Provide an exploded view of one ? (just a basic view will be fine)

I assume they are just 8 valve heads and nothing silly ? (Andy is not a fan of an excess of valves)

I don't have any tech data on them. My Pug stuff stops before...

it seems like there's a coolant leak somewhere but i have checked all hoses and seems like nothing's wrong with it, it takes about 1 litre every week.

when i bought the car the guy who sold it to me said that i will need to change the rear right arm bearing but since i live in finland and i'm not finnish so i got caught in the culture shock...

Mine's been leaking for quite some time.
It's got worse recently, apparently putting a lot of antifreeze in there dissolved out some of the sludge that's been sealing it. :lol:

Shopping around on fleabay etc; are the pumps on turbo and non turbo engines the same?
My guess would be yes, but figured it'd be best I checked.

As the winter is coming with all the salt and muck about ! i was wondering if there any recommended ways of keeping the heght corrector and it linkage free ?
every couple of weeks i move the car through it height modes i was thinking that while its in high was it worth spraying the height corrector & linkage with gt85 or wd40 ? so it keeps it all...

MPG is easy, I know how it does that.

The 2 MPGs (trip 1 and 2) can be used to work some sort of average for tank range - simple.

But....

Why, when I am sitting in a traffic queue does the tank range increase, while the MPG goes down? Its always done it, ever since I got it a year ago. Does not...

I have a problem with my Citroen Xsara 1.4 lx on a 51 plate.
It has started to not recognise the ignition key! when the key is inserted, a light comes on the dashboard whic looks like a key inside a large box.
The engine will then not start. Sometimes this is overcome by changing to the spare key, but now I have to insert the key and turn it in...

Hope somebody can help,car drives perfect then all of a sudden cuts out for a second or so and then comes back to life,just as if ignition been turned off,rev counter doesn't drop,no lights come on,seems to happen more anywhere over 35 mph,anyone help please.

Well I feel the time has come to leave the Citroens behind :cry: Having bought a caravan that weigh's 1500kg the C5 will not tow it, well it does but legally I cannot due to the stupid restrictions Citroen put on its auto's, 1100kg for a 2.2 turbo diesel, what is that all about.... :?

I've had my C5 for a few months and it was only with some bad weather recetly realised that my rear foglights aren't working, the fronts are fine and the warning lamp lights in the dash but no rear lights...

The 1st thing I checked was the rear lamp assembly with a test lamp and whilst I've power going to all the other rear lights...

Another question: Wht's are the differences between the 90hp and 110hp engines, is it just an intercooler - or is there more. I have noticed the the 90hp cars seem much cheaper than the 110, so you know what's going through my mind don't you :D...

When twisting the rear spheres off they're not coming off where they should instead its further back at the pipe union. Is there a technique to stabilising them to get just the sphere off? Afraid of breaking the pipes now

Just collected the car from it's former owner, it's my first Citroën and I'm just wondering why every now and then the front suspension just keeps on bouncing up and down like a kangaroo. It did it twice in a 12 mile trip.

Having only one fog-light (Drivers side) working I naturally figured that the bulb on the passenger side had blown.
On removing it and checking it on the battery I found the bulb to be working perfectly.
On re-fitting - not working, despite getting 14.5 volts where the on the contacts meet the bulb.
However in fitting the bulb and earthing it...

I guess that I have to replace the rear oil seal on my xant, since there is an oil leak that I suspect is from the rear oil seal. did any of you, members, carried out by yourselfs such a task, and if so, how difficult is it? if you are willing to drop some advices - they will be very welcomed.

My 1993 Citroen Xantia 1.9td is not running very well. When the engine is cold there is a annoying squeal at tick over, it goes once you pull away, but when you pull up at a junction and press the clutch down the squealing noise comes back.
Once the engine has fully warmed up the noise completely goes, however it does feel 'lumpy' at tick over....

Does anyone know a source (or substitute) for the rubbery finish used on C5 interior handles etc? Mine is peeling in places, and it would be nice to restore it if possible.

I been using the 'sports/comfort' switch on my Xantia (something it may never have done before I owned it), and finding it an excellent system, but this might have something to do with the resulting drip of oil from the area of (if its the right term) the rear control valve activating the extra sphere for hard/soft mode etc. The local (ish) Citron...

Going to replace the accumulator sphere on my Xantia HDI, I'm presuming it's the one visible from above when looking directly down in the engine bay, the one to the left of the screw that relieves hydraulic pressure ?
Does anyone know the OEM part number so I can ensure my factor gets it right ?!

How much LHM will it take to fill the reservoir on a Xantia HDi if it's completely empty?

I've just emptied the reservoir on ours and am going to put clean fluid into it.

Just wondered if anyone could give me a rough idea in litres of what it'll take to fill it!

Does anyone know if this OBD1A Diagnostics - ISO9141 / KWP2000 PROTOCOL cable will work on a 1998 Xantia 1.8i 16v and or 1999 Saxo 1.0 ?

Their list shows a Xantia and Saxo but they could not confirm any customer using it on my particular cars.

I've seen this oil on sale but was wondering if it is good enough for my 99 Xantia that has a 2.0 HDI engine. The car has a catalytic converter and my only concern is -looking around the web- a lot of people say the kind of oil good enough for a car with diesel particulate filter must be ACEA C-rated and this one doesn't seem to have it....

OK, I can't find a good link to show the Hydractive system layout and operating scheme. Can anyone help please ?
Also, will my Xantia 2 have Hydractive 1 or 2 ?

The Blower or Internal heater fan rums at maximum, (full speed) no matter where the slider control is positioned. I have established (through an Electrical Engineer) that the Heater/dashboard Slider Control is working properly. Can anybody offer any advice here.

Hi, newbie here. Just had my car in to,local citoren dealer and they are stinging me 375.33 to repair a fault on my cooling fan. the fault is a blown relay, but the dealer tells me that this cannot be just replaced and that the whole fan assembly must be purchased. Can anyone tell me is this true????

replacement lump all in and running seems ok,

but in the procces of running it in and out of my workshop over the last couple of weekends, it has sooted all four plugs up, i noticed today on startting her up she was not quite happy,

pluged the Dis Lexia in and ran it in paramiter check mode this is what it says

Anyway, all went well today and managed to remove L & R track control arms via a ball joint remover and get the gearbox off.

The clutch was completely gone, with many of the pressure plate diaphragm springs broken and the bearing more or less disintegrated.

However, came to take off the clutch assy only...

had drivers side light go last week, thought no probs pick one up at weekdend
picked one up today changed it and still nothing :(
checked all the fuses i can find ana all are ok, wouldnt thought a fuse as sidelight still works

any ideas??? have i missed something really daft?

getting deseprate as got pulled over last night and see the same...

Yesterday while driving, i noticed the car felt sluggish, I then found that the nearside front brake is binding.

I think this might be a problem with the handbrake mechanism seizing or could it be the calliper itself.

I havn't had a chance to remove the wheel and check, but wondered if it was a common fault.

In the cold mornings i am finding the car very slow turning over and the gauges go a bit mad ! i dont want the dials to stick as suggested they can.
I think the battery is a petrol one ? My cars previous owner did nt exactly...

Was having a poke around my HDI on the ramp yesterday, mainly to determine the source of a ticking sound at idle and slightly above, engine speed. Looks like the most probable reason is a faulty crank damper pulley. The metal part in the middle has been making contact with the outer part evidenced by a circular score mark.
So, do I get an OEM...
