Normal for Xantia to beep when connecting the battery?

As per title really. When re-connecting a battery on an old Xantia, is it normal for it to start beeping?

What's beeping ?

Keypad / alarm siren / something else ?

I used sometimes get a crackly sound but I've not heard a beep before.

It is not on my car. It is on the following youtube video I came across, like a siren/beeping sound: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I wondered if this is normal, and perhaps the alarm system was faulty on my Xant - as it never made that noise when I re-connected the battery.

Different countries had different specs on their Xantias. Could well be a different alarm setup was fitted or some extra gubbins that beeps.

Don't they do that if you forget to turn the alarm sounder off with the under bonnet switch?

Could be different on the earlier ones but the later S1 Xantias didn't have the switch to turn them off, I've never had the beeping.

Mine (S2) doesn't beep.

Ok, its at least good to know that there wasn't a fault with mine.
