A C5 HDi Exclusive estate has turned up at work and its loaded, heated leather, folding mirrors, colour sat nav, panoramic roof, parking sensors, auto dim rear view mirror etc etc. Before i pull the plug and buy it something was bothering me about the nav system, i couldn't select it on the screen using the control dial! I'm assuming the discs have been removed so naturally looked for where they were, boot nothing, under rear seats nothing, under front drivers seat is a 6 disc cd changer, in the glove box is a yellow/red/white accessory socket but no cd rom drive. Does the system even have a cd rom drive or is the data stored in the stereo/display unit? Any exclusive owners care to help me out cos i'm stumped...
Andy
Picture of display, i'm unable to selct the middle and right hand icon on the top line.

Re: MY02 C5 Exclusive Sat Nav
Can't answer your questions directly, but consider this: the SatNav data (particularly the all-important speed cameras) will be more than 10 years out-of-date. I've yet to come across a built-in Sat-Nav that's anywhere near as good as a Tom-Tom or Garmin and you can buy a mid-range TomTom or Garmin model for a fraction of the cost of replacement/update Sat-Nav CDs from car manufacturers. Porsche wanted over £2,000 for replacement SatNav CDs for a 911 Carrera 4!

Re: MY02 C5 Exclusive Sat Nav
Getting discs is not the issue, whether the nav works or not is the issue for me. I've already got a top of the range Garmin that i use. The idea was to buy the C5 and move it on at a profit, having working nav can be a deal breaker irrespective of the age of it. Thanks for the reply though.

Re: MY02 C5 Exclusive Sat Nav
How old is the car? around 2006/7 they changed the head unit from RT3 to RT4.
RT3 has discs which insert into the head unit, RT4 has a hard drive that stores both maps and music. If you press the menu button then you should be able to select navigate from there.

Re: MY02 C5 Exclusive Sat Nav
Andy,
Sounds like an exclusive "SE" model. I used to have one of these.
The CD drive for the sat nav is in an extra glove box to the right of the steering wheel by the drivers right knee - take a look in there.
Best regards,
Mark.
