This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Hi Folks,
I had just left Cwmbran shopping centre yesterday, when a twang was heard, with an immediate clutch pedal to floor effect. I thought Clip , so got car home. Had a look up under dash---clip intact. Oh. Tool air filter box off, to check if cable busted. Cable fine. I had a look at clutch lever from bellhousing---going from end to end of...

Hi Stewart,
Once new clutch is in there, car will be sold---too complicated for my budget. My TD is just a bog standard Lx---simpler to use and maintain.

Activa Article

Well here’s an article I have found, that is well worth a look at. 8)

So, next time you go into WH Smith, or your local supermarket go to the magazine section, and pick up the current issue of Autocar dated 18th October 2006.

This is because there is an article in there, which is very interesting.

If you turn to page 122 Richard Bremner has...

And whilst on the media watch, the C6 doesn't fare too well in the new
TopGear article versus the coupe styled Merc saloon and a Lexus...

Strange that they put it up against those after the last article made it quite clear that Citroen weren't trying to compete in that market.

Nice article on the C4 Picasso though, no doubt they'll be slamming...

The coupe version was in the pipeline but citroen dropped it due to competing with the 406 coupe and knowing it would have sold better due to its supension setup and engines, v6 and turbo would have been very good with it on an activa platform as well and taken teh extra wieght :)

What a load of old rubbish.I thought they were going to see how much abuse/damage they could do to it before it was a non runner.Instead, the Dirty Sanchez boys just bashed it with sledge hammers.
Still,at least VBH looked lovely as usual :D

Yes I agree it was a waste of time, and proved nothing !

The plastic sheeting you talk about is possibly the stuff they used to sell (may still do) called Alsynite but it was found that it didn't repel the UV as it should and once saw a back patio style thing that had it over it and it turned it into an oven. After the first summer, it had gone brown on top from scorching and was quite brittle.
We've...

Its always worth checking the 'small' things first, I knew a guy who had an old 205 diesel (over 300k) got difficult to start and because he thought it was nearly finished he started on the old Easy Start route every day..........I saw him doing this and said about the gloplugs....turns out thats all it was; he had never changed them in 10 years...

Hello All,

While I agree that swearing should be used in context, I doubt that Quackers meant to cause offence in his enthusiasm for the car.

It would be a shame to lose you as a contributor Dave, but is the use of swearing really a cause to stop visiting the site altogether?

Come on fella, we need you.

I myself am not offended in the least by...

I've just read a letter in Retro Cars this month and therein is half a hint that the government is looking to pass legislation that will effectively ban modified cars and even threaten those of us who run old 'uns that do not strictly meet todays C and U regs, especially in the emissons department.

The words were very scant and left me wanting to...

hi all, I know this has little to do with french cars, but if anyone can give me a few pointers i would appreciate it.

If you've got the primer on, best to at least give it a coat of top while it's still all masked up.
Primer by nature is porous and if left just in primer and given the damp climate, you'll find surface rust will develop fairly quickly and begin to bleed through. This will lead to making a bigger job of it eventually.
If it were me, I'd be getting...

SM HDi

by Village » 06 Oct 2006, 13:35

This is a purely hypothetical question as I'm both skint and mechanically inept, but who thinks that the 2.7 HDi from a C6 would fit in an SM?

'Dreamer' Pete

Last post

yes - but - you're fundamentally changeing the car's character - from a lusty high-revving engine to a low revving growler and I doubt if the result would be pleasant.

Yes I know fuel costs would be less but I doubt if anyone would do a high mileage on an SM these days - so its significance fades.

The biggest problem would be finding a suitable...

Yep, that one was a trap.
Same car that gave me the brown trouser moment in the car park also nearly got me in the backyard.

has anyone else spotted it?

they tried to modernise a classic by making it look like a snooped pre-production test car (along with the others too), good choice for the road track to his (micheal caine with long hair and stoned) woodland house, seems they have kept the suspension for it and added their own soundeffects for the engine.
