I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

I've been offered a rather nice set of 2003 16 alloys from a 3 series BMW.
These are 5 stud like my current Laguna steel wheels and wondered if they would fit?

I know I need to check the PCD and Offest but I'm not ENTIRELY sure what these are...

Can I fit them or do I need to find genuine Renault alloys?

I have a problem with my handbrake. When I apply it only the passenger rear wheel locks, the drivers rear wheel does not.
I thought it might have been the cable so i replaced it, but it is still the same.

Hi,

The dreaded MOT is coming up and I was teststing the light son my 53 Clio Billabong when I discovered the hazard warning lights don't work the switch doesn't seem to go all the way in it seems this is a fairly common problem I just wondered if anyone knew how to change the switch before is start to attack the car with a screwdriver.

Noticed on Tuesday the water was just a little below max, so filled it up to about 1/2 inch above max, and today when checking its down to 1/2 inch below max.

The breather pipe is all away up the top so i dont think its going up that far and leaking out, ive not noticed any leaks anywhere, and...

My dads 4 year old diesel Megane is erratic to start. He inserts the card and it asks to press the brake or clutch and press the start button, but when he does this nothing happens. It's the same with both cards and the batteries have been changed. Eventually it does start after numerous attempts. Seems quite random, sometimes it starts first time...

Ive got a Renault scenic 1.6rt 1.6e, I've removed the old Phillips tape player, and have my jvc cd player, it plugs straight in no problems, the only issue is its loose and does not fit snug,

so on the old tape player was some sort of plastic cage, which i think i need to fit over my cd players cage.... right...?

hi all, basically i have been having problems with the steering as follows..

-the steering feels a bit nervous
-the steering wheel starts to shake at around 80 mph
-the wheel sticks on full lock and will not cycle back towards center
-i can feel all the bumps in the road through the steering wheel

the c.v joint on the drivers side is knocking...

I'd say its a fuelling problem.

With ignition off, unplug the fuel supply line to the throttle housing.
Lead the fuel hose into a clear bottle and now set ignition on (do not try start the engine).
You should have a good solid spurt of fuel for some 2seconds.
After some 2 seconds the engine management computer shuts down the relay for the pump...

I need to remove the steering wheel from my 1998 Megane. The manual says a new bolt should be used to re fit the steering wheel. Is there a good reason why the old one could not be re used? I'm having trouble getting hold of a new one. Thanks

Hi, I used to work on Renaults, the only thing I can think of from memory is that the bolt has thread lock or lock tite on it, so maybe as long as you put new lock tite on it when refitting you might be ok.

You have lost the pump inlet suction for any reason.
The pressure output for the injectors will never see the combustion pressure, so its defo not that being the problem.

Try again using the hand primer pump. Be absolutely sure there is fuel reaching the diesel pump inlet stud - and absolutely NO air - at all - in the fuel.
Also - any minor leak...

I have a Renault Megane Scenic RT (1998 - R reg). The Electronic incident warning light comes on sometimes but becoming more frequent. Only once the car would not start, called breakdown recovery who thought it was a flat battery (was not this). He disconnected a sensor on the top of the gearbox and then the car started. You try to insert original CD with map of your location? CD not copied? Who issued CD?
Maybe you have NAV5 languages CD with English?...

I bought the Haynes manual for the Mk2, some bits are common, but none of the bits I need so far!

I also git the Peter Russek manual, but it is pretty poor.
Lots of stuff on doing major mechanical rebuilds (engine, gearbox etc) but nothing on the basic bits eg where is the fusebox....

Seat Heating!

I have a Renault Clio 1.4 1999
The seat heating dont start or dont heat.The light on button works but no heat.
I have checked the fuses and all are ok.Checked the wireing under seat and they are on place and connected.

Any ideas what to do or what the problem can be?

Yes I believe that all recent cars have a thermostat built-in to the heated seat installation - for safety reasons.
That would be a thermostat for each seat then, so cant be the reason for both seats remaining cold.

Tell you what to do :
simply find the wiring under the seat. Then follow the wires backwards (under tany carpeting) in to the mid...

Radiator hose

My better half broke down last week with a split raiator hose which cant be repaired, I have phoned around and scoured the internet to fid one but to no avail can anyone tell me where I can get a radiator hose for a Nregd 1996 Renault 19.

Recently my 1998 Scenic failed to start. When I turn the key the starter sounds like it is getting a small burst of power, but then immediately dies (like a very flat battery). I have tried a new battery but still the same thing happens.

I have a 2003 Kangoo van. When I purhcased the van it had no radio so I bought one from Ebay along with a dash LCD unit (scrappy).
