Renault Scenic 1998 - Fitting a cd player

Unread post by mrphil »

Hi people!

Ive got a Renault scenic 1.6rt 1.6e, I've removed the old Phillips tape player, and have my jvc cd player, it plugs straight in no problems, the only issue is its loose and does not fit snug,

so on the old tape player was some sort of plastic cage, which i think i need to fit over my cd players cage.... right...?

So anyway I've done this and boy what a tight fit, its even cracked, anyway ive fitted it in, but the black plastic cage sticks out, on the 4 corners?

I'm waiting for a fascia kit so not sure if this hides it, I'm not sure on any of it, so if someone could just give me a simple guide to fitting the cd player tidy that would be appreciated!

even if i have to start from step one,

also do i need the steering wheel control adapter or could a auto electrician do it without me spending over £40 on the adapters or buying a new cd player and then the adapters?

thanks in advance

Fit the replacement fascia and attach the metal cage from your JVC. Bob's your uncle.

If you have steering wheel controls you'll need the adapter cable (assuming your JVC accepts a remote control cable).
