I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

02 espace front door not locking remotely

we've just bought an 02 reg espace and having got home, the front drivers door won't lock with the remote. All the other doors lock ok. The motor on the petrol flap lock is noisy but i can live with that. Could this be down to a broken fuse / relay or is there something more serious wrong?

Definitely get a new fuel filter fitted. The noise sounds like diesel knock which afaik is similar to pinking. You might find your injectors want a clean to restore the spray pattern. It might pay to try some diesel cleaner in the fuel which you can get from your local factor. I always thought Redex was more suitable for petrol but may be wrong....

Just bought a 52 plate Megane for a friend that came with only one key so i'm looking into getting him a spare.

Am I right in saying that I could get a 2nd hand remote key, replace the blade with a blank, getting it cut and then reprogramming the remote using the code?

Or does the key contain a remote circuit board and an imobiliser...

i have a 99 scenic, when locking the car one of the rear doors will not lock.
there seems to be no maual way of locking the doors other than central locking or key. is there an easy fix or is it going to be auto electrician job.

Thats very interesting as I didn't think the scenic to be multiplexed or expect there to be a problem scotch cliping the towbar wiring to the loom (as I did on my 2001 306).
Think a chat with an auto electrician might be on the cards before I do the one on my wifes scenic.

The drivers side footwell on our Scenic is getting water logged.

Have checked the scuttle by removing the windscreen wipers etc, and that's clear, so now need to check the sunroof drain holes, as I hope that's the culprit.

I'm assuming front wheel off, are they then visible or do I have to take the wheel liner off as well.

Never done the job myself but I believe the sunroof drain tubes come out behind the wing liners.

If you have access to compressed air you could try blowing down the drain tube from the sunroof end to see if that will clear it.
You could also try pushing a long piece of wire down the tube, curtain wire would be ideal as this is very flexible....

The mechanic said it ''could'' be the air temperature sensor but wasn't sure so i'm reluctant to spend on a new unit until i'm reasonably sure. Starting the engine from cold at home it misses...

Its only done 49,000, the engine is fine when running but eratic when idling, more annoying than anything else.

My bet is that your garage did not properly bleed the cooling system.
Its the standard issue.
And many newer cars are in fact pretty hard to bleed properly.

Use the old trick with a bottomless bottle in the coolant filler neck to create a coolant surface...

Without knowing much about this vehicle:

The typical place would be the coil lead (the low voltage one obviously!)

If you do not have the traditional coil and leads arrangement and have a coil pack, its going to be a bit more difficult. You may get a signal from one of the connectors on the coil pack, but I cannot be sure to be honest.

Can a rx4 be mot'd without the 4wd shaft fitted ---ive just bought 1 without a 4wd shaft fitted but im otherwise happy with it and it has a fresh mot

My mechanic says i may run into problems trying to get it mot'd again without the 4wd shaft in place----i dont have it or even want it! but obviously im concerned----i believe many rx4's had this...

RX4s can be tested on MOT brake rollers, ours was, i saw it get done and it only just passed due to their horrific brakes.

I would have thought economy might have something to do with it being removed, unless there was a problem with coupling etc. Though if radiovic is happy with it being front drive then any probelsm shouldnt be noticed unless...

i have a renault megane 1998 1.6 sport (ha ha not very sporty thou) it has an electrical fault when i indicate right the fog light light on dash flashes with it when i brake the indicator stops working until i release the brake when i have the lights on and brake it flashes fast has any one come across this before it sounds to me like a bad earth...

You need to call an auto locksmith near you. Keys and codes sometimes have to come from the dealer (dependent on how the locksmith does the job).
If you go to the dealer for the complete job, be prepared as they will try to pull your trousers down.

I have a Renault clio 20011.2 16 v Expression with 50,000 miles.

Its been regularly serviced by renault, no major problems have occured.

Just recently the car wouldn't start in the morning or at all if exact.

Managed to start by jump starting a couple of times which cleared up the prob, even left for a time & the car restarted.

Left overnight...

Try and borrow a battery charger, fully charge the battery and see how that goes. Likely the battery is failing if a jump start worked and the cold weather won't be helping.

If charging the battery works, get the battery and alternator checked while it is fresh, don't wait for it to happen again.

Recently the front driver's side indicator popped out of my grand espace on the motorway (I didn't notice until I'd gotten home, I heard a clatter under the car and assumed I'd hit some debris). I've picked up a spare and it fits perfectly but I can't see how it is attached. There is a little pin hole but that is broken and nothing...

Just got a Renault 21 Monaco but the starter does not function. No click, just completely dead. Any tips on good ways to see whether it's a wiring/relay issue or a duff starter itself?

Welcome to the forums Mr Wobbler, saw your new acquisition only shortly before you signed in.

I would as a first step check that there is power getting to the starter solenoid.
Check the integrity of the wiring, could be something as simple as a break in a conductor.

Cannot help with the window at all. Someone surely will though.

Hi,

I own an 03 plate scenic dynamique +.
The wife has had a bit of a scrape in it and the bumper moulding has been damaged. It will be a easy repair as long as I can find out the trim colour code.
Anyone know where I can find this? For reference the bumper moulding is of a silver colour and not the colour of the car.

and here is an answer - multifunction switch in AT body, It has 2 little buttons which go ON or OFF depends on selector level,so they get old and erased for few mm, new multifunction swith cost about 700 USD,I can fix a problem by adding few mm of plastic, BUT I dont know what lenght should be of those buttons :roll:

Hi folks. I managed to do a very silly thing today and catch the rubber gaitor on the rear left caliper if my missus 1.6 petrol Grand Scenic on somehting while changing pads. It's now torn and leaking fluid so needs sorting.

I'm lead to believe a repair kit can be gotten to replace the gaitor, but finding it is provign hard. Anyone got any ideas?...

Clio leaking though the roof

Hi I have a Clio rt on a P plate 1.9 d
When it rains bad nothing happens. It builds up somewhere. Then starts leaking when I'm driving. It either the sunroof seal. Or the aerial Seal. At the weekend I cleaned where the sunroof closes. Had all Leafs on in and trigs in it. Put it back on. Then sprayed the hose pipe. Nothing came out. I took the...

Renault Kangoo van starting problems....fuel I think?

Hello,
Hope someone has some advice. My kangoo keeps turning over at start up and will not start till I pump the fuel primer. Sometimes takes a lot of pumping to get it started and sometimes starts straight away. I have changed the fuel filter, and can't see any leak in the hoses. Can anyone tell me what else it might be?

megane scenic immobiliser

Hi I have a scenic 1997 R reg 1.6 petrol, the immobiliser light on the dash is a steady red so I can't start or work the central locking from the key fob, if I disconnect for a couple of minutes the immobiliser light flashes and all works, but after and short while it goes back to being a steady red again.

any help or ideas would be gratefully...

hello my brother in law has a espace with a broken spring on the back, do u guys know any where to get one as we have looked in every scrap yard around this area (wisbech) and we cant find one with springs anywhere

Late 2003 Laguna 120 bhp. Low compression on 2 and 3 pots. Belt is OK and no loss of coolant. Can it be a 'simple' head shave and new gasket? I have an opportunity to buy this car. 130k.

hi, i would say it all depends on your mechanical ability whether or not it is an easy fix, firstly i have a similar problem with my megane 0 comp on no4 cyl and 230 on no2, i'm on the lines of thinking that the laguna that you are talking about could possibly have slightly bent valves or partially melted valves in the aspect of not seating...
