03 scenic radio display

hi all BIG problem , the digital display for the radio stopped working at exactly the same time as the steering wheel remote packed in , the display still lights up orange and displays temp etc so its still working and this all happened when she had a cam belt change and the garage deny messing with anything else ( they are a good bunch of lads and i believe em ) problem is ( appart from not knowing by sight what radio chanel i m on and having to use the radio rather than the remote to tune ) i disconnected the battery to charge it and i can now no longer put the code in the radio to get it working again !! can eny one help thanks all
