Since having the cambelt / waterpump changed a few months ago, my sons 2001 Clio has lost coolant. The dealer has checked it and said that it is not the water pump, but said that the leak is coming from the Pre-Heater housing. They tried to fix it yesterday, but said that it needs a new housing costing £90 + fitting, which my son can't afford.
The pre-heater is located halfway down the Engine in the r/h side when facing the car from the front. Basically it's below the coolant tank, in a tight spot with a coolant pipe at the top and bottom and electrical connector. It's leaking at the bottom, but I can see from where it's coming from - the garage replaced the jubilee clip on the bottom pipe, but this has made no difference. I have a photo of the offending part if that helps.
Also what coolant should I use, my wife tried to get some at £5 a litre but they only has a 5litre one at £20 - this is the renault pre diluted stuff, but can I just use undiluted Blucol and add my own water ?
Thank you
