1996 LAGUNA GEARBOX NEEDED

HI all well im new to this site so hello.Anyways i have a 1996 laguna that needs a new gearbox as my old one has packed up.Anyways the car is a 2.0 8v and the gearbox number is jc5032 but im having probs with getting another one as diffent people are telling me all diffent things.So can someone please help me so i can find anther gearbox ie will one from a 16v fit or do i have to find a gearbox with the same matching numbers.Thanks
