Is the car running well?

Often, a distinct chuffing noise in the inlet manifold indicates a leaky inlet valve... Or, at best, a broken vacuum or breather hose attached to the manifold.

The oil breather you speak of is the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve and usually gives no trouble...

Check the chuffing noise is not originating from...

maybe it will be useful to someone, today I solved the problem in the following way.. I added liquid to the roof pump through the valve on the tank, but most importantly, the problem completely disappeared when I turned the pump 180 degrees, using the valve for topping up, which is on the body , down so the liquid began to be pumped into the system

Did you make sure the gasket was seated correctly.

Sound like new gear linkages are needed , change in the weather and this happens.

If ive not read properly , are or is the dash gauge ok ? Sounds like thats gone to earth , i might be wrong & hope i am.

For all of those codes to arrive at once, I would be looking for a blown fuse, or maybe a corroded connection, maybe in the engine bay fuse box.

Try erasing the fault codes and see which ones come back immediately.

Ok, as it turns out, after running those codes against your specific vehicle, none of them are valid codes according to Peugeot for this exact vehicle. So they are either incorrect or not applicable to this vehicle, so not sure which diagnostic tool was being used to obtain them?...

Thanks for the reply quintet, yes it's a five door, the rear doors are all ready for speakers but I think it was the 'budget' model so they weren't included, just like it only had one fog rear and one reversing light due to them not connecting the second ones (cheapskates!) They are now though.

the patched version 9.150 (Spanish origin) - not a VM - is a cancelled version - and less recommended.
The VM version 9.68 is far better.
If VM versions are not possible due to a lack of laptop configuration, there are direct versions available for an activation fee of €16.

These sort of faults can be difficult to identify but simple to fix. As for the Peugeot Dealers suggestion to replace all the locks, !! ridiculous, so stay well clear of them.
What you need is a “Peugeot Boffin” with the latest diagnostic tools, who knows how to use them and has a good understanding of wiring systems.

I'm experiencing the same error message of Battery charge or electrical supply fault. It's been happening for a couple of months now and so far I've had 2 mechanics look at it with the result that I've spent over $4K on a new battery, 2 new alternators, 1 new auxiliary coolant fuse and 1 new auxiliary coolant pump! But still the message comes up...

First thing you need to do is confirm if the starter solenoid is getting a feed when its not starting. Could just be a failing starter motor.

Unfortunately the TSB bulletins are only generally carried out within the vehicle's warranty or extended warranty period. The After-Sales campaign work will be completed free of charge though. At least that has saved you significantly on having the complete timing kit replaced as that is labour-intensive....

Not surprising as these can vary considerably on other equipment fitted, year, model, chassis etc. Made more difficult if your vehicle never had one to start with of course, otherwise we could of helped with a replacement part - but parts are vehicle-specific.

I believe this relates to the turbo vacuum pipe - which should be checked and replaced if required.

None listed that I can see. I think there are other after-market companies that are providing these like the Russians!

Ok, confirmed, as per my post above, so don't use Powerflex on this vehicle as it's not a third generation additive system. Use Eolys Extend.

Replaced the injectors, did a refresh the timing and it was able to start without struggle.

Sorry, can't help you with this as work on the traction battery system requires special training given the nature of these things.

The BSI's are just the same ones used in Peugeot models. Xsara & Xsara Picasso can use different BSI's depending on age but there will be an equivalent Peugeot model that uses the same BSI.
If its for your 206 again they can be fitted with 2 main different types of BSI depending on if you have a com2000 model or not.

A hole in the matrix most likely. As far as I know, the seals are only on the oil side... I'm not sure about your variety of engine but it may even be possible to bypass the coolant side, just for a test...

If all the lights have stopped working it may well be an earth problem. Have you removed the lamp unit to have a look at the connector & see if there is any signs of melting. Might be worth trying a temp earth to the unit. If thats ok maybe look at where the towbar is wired in.

Well after clearing the fauls they came back after 40km together with another fault:
P0001 OBD-II Trouble Code Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep digging - I have had an ongoing discussion with the repairer on the alternator (I think there is a problem - the computer says no (cough!)).

I like the idea of telling the BSI we no longer have the radio. Would eliminate any discussion. I'll look into it.
