Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

any of you guys have any idea what citroen these wheels were fitted too? i have got 4 of them, brand new never had tyres fitted, just a few storage marks. they are 13 with a polished lip. i have spent about an hour just trying to find what the part number links too and looking through pics of citroens but i thought maybe someone on here has...

Do any members have any idea how much a clutch for my C5 x7 2011 1.6 e-hdi egs6 would cost just to buy not fitting?? Thanks in anticipation.

Reconditioning clutches at its simplest basically involves skimming the pressure plate surface (if required) and renewing the friction material on the driven plate. The springs and release fingers should also be checked and replaced if needed.

I was in the motor trade in the seventies and eighties and we neither used nor were offered...

hi new to this forum so please be patient as am crap at spelling. i have just removed the amoring off a lucas dpc xud 110 pump , i have now realised that if you feed 12v to the wires a certain way the stop opens , but like a fool i cut the plug off the stop so can not find which wire needs plus and neg so i can make up a bypass for the bloody...

I've only ever had Citroens with blood running through them, 1 BX, 4 Xantias, and a Mark 2 C5. I really can noticed the difference when i get in other peoples cars how bad the steal sprung suspensions are. Its the only reason i ever buy Citroen, but obviously i have a dilemma in the future due to Citroens recent actions.

guys

had the cooling system flushed recently and losing about 2 litres of coolant per month. took it to the guy and he said it was a leak behind the engine housing and it would be a nightmare job.
he put some sealant in the coolant and told me to take care. is this job really difficult and what does it entail hopefully it will be ok.

It depends on exactly what is leaking. 2l / month is pretty heavy, and is going to cost a fortune in coolant!! If it wasn't leaking before, then maybe he messed up the operation, and now wants shot of it? There is a plastic intake housing on the back of the block, which is a known weak point - it might need the OS drive shaft removing to change it...

pondering this on the way back from shopping this morning, Is there a List with the Optimum settings your car should have?? for example, Xantia Brakes, a figure for what you should be looking to achieve on the MOT test results?? fronts, rears, parking etc. ??? the percentage of efficiency you should be hitting??

Most of the time my heater fan works normally but recently has started cutting out occasionally. The fan speed indicator shows blank and the econ light goes out. Changing the fan speed or switching to auto has no effect. This happens for about one/two minutes, then all returns to normal. Any suggestions on the cause? Could this be the module...

Hi everyone

I got this message come up so popped it to my local garage to sort. The car was showing fault with the glow plugs so had them changed as they seamed a pain in the arse to do myself. Back off the engine block and removing air box etc.

This cleared the fault show and recorded however it didn't delete the message about the risk particle...

On my 307 I can tell it's regenning as there is a relay clicks on / off in the BSI, and it runs slightly rough on a trailing throttle. If the rear window is damp or steamed up, you can see the heater is on. More difficult to tell in the C4, but the window still does it thing - this one smells very hot if stopped soon afterwards though - not really...

So..the car is a 1994 1.1 petrol MMG62. The Spanish MOT people say the Engine management light has to be off. I have found Permanent Fault Mixture Adjustment with my Lexia. The light has been on for 2 years with a well running car (except fast, sharp right hand turns where she tries to stall), CO good - passed 2 MOTs.

So, some of you would have noticed the rear of my has no badges. The previous owner took them off and replaced with a which he'd super glued on!!!

After some dental floss it looked like this...

To celebrate passing 100k, one of the front wheel bearings (OS I'm pretty sure) has gone noisy on the C4 :lol: Not unexpected as I replaced both on the 307 (which is the same bearing I think) between 90 and 95k. I got SKF bearings for the 307 from Mr Auto - I thought at about £50 - but they are much more than that now. Looking around for the C4...

So I purchased a 2004 C5 2.0i (non hpi) exclusive, it's a nice car, and a step up from a xantia (i never knew i'd say it), but paul did mention to me before that a C5 is a better car.

My X2 SX 110 was written off in a collision, as I'd only just put new front pads and discs on it I decided to try and fit the 110's front brakes onto my current LX 90 daily driver. The 90's have much smaller front discs and calipers.
Visually it looked like a direct swap but when trying the 110 discs on the 90 I discovered they won't clear the hub...

A while ago, I asked the forum about a problem I had with my 4HP18, which was shunting up and down between gears just on the change point, at times.

The consensus seemed to be dirty fluid (changed a few times) or governor seals.

If it was an AL4 electronically controlled autobox then I'd say yes, quite possibly. I've known engine performance have a profound effect on the electronic 4HP20 as fitted to the V6 Xantia for instance but as I believe yours has the 4HP14 fully old-school mechanical-hydraulic 'box then not really but if the engine was really, really down...

Neither of the heated rear mirros on my MK1 Xantia work. they don't defrost, so I imagine there's a dicky relay somewhere.

Does anyone have an idea where the relay is to be found?

Citroen Nemo n/s abs rear abs fault.
Overloaded car too much weight may have been coincidence or brick may have caught wires under seat but light came on.
Not sure route wire take ?
changed rear wheel sensor no change.
swapped hub to see if fault moved to opersite sides. IE. Cracked pick up ring.
Wanted to test wiring front to rear anyone know...

In all seriousness though you need a wiring diagram to check the wiring, when you get your VIN up it will be far easier to answer your questions.

Hi guys. It's an 1994 1.1 petrol car, my dad's. Actually we're in Spain but the emissions test is the same. It's the only failure. Ok so plugged in Lexia again. Something is wrong!

Very strangely the car seems to be set up to run best with the Engine light on. Runs at 900rpm and CO goes down to 0.2, Idle actuator is 14 to 24%. With Engine light off runs at 700rpm and CO goes way up to at least 2 (6 or 10 when engine cold), Idle actuator is 80%.

Hello Folks

Need some help with fault finding why my washer pump no longer works.

I've tested the pump connection to washer bottle using a known working pump.

Swapped the steering column switch for another, still nothing.

Wipers function

Fuse checked and OK

Any ideas what else to check, is there a relay hidden somewhere that could have...

My citroen 1.4i with bosch monopoint injection has running and starting problems when warm. it starts and runs perfectly from cold but as it warms up it has a severe flat spot when accelerating to the point that when it stalls you can't start it at all. if you leave it to go cold its fine and runs ok. I'm picking up a Xantia next weekend, which hasn't seen much use for a couple of years. The MOT lapsed in Dec 14, and since then it's been started and driven around once a month. I should stress that prior to being parked up, it was very well maintained and looked after, and is still apparently roadworthy.

hi all, I tried to fit my old roof bars to the X7 tonight, but upon undoing the first blanking bolt in the roof, the captive escaped..

I would think the header tanks will be different due to the engine bay layout and the lack of space in the Xanta v6, the swirl tanks should be (as shown in Cit Service and the code) will be the same as they fit to the engine.

A friend of mine has a weird problem with a EW10A C5 with manual transmission:

When ignition is turned on, lights on dash light up as usual. After about 5 seconds everything else goes off except the engine fault light. Even the multifunction display shuts down.

Hi all, just noticed on my C5 X7 tourer, 2.7 V6, auto (mainly when engine is cold) when I hover around 2000rpm (just before gear change) or if I slightly press the accelerator (cruising behind someone) the engine judders a little... if I accelerate over the 2000rpm or change manually into gear I don't get it...

Could be an EGR valve failing. Very common on this engine (and many other Diesel engines).
I had this with a C6 2.7HDi (same engine).
Slight hesitation on light throttle at 1750rpm.
Lexia diagnostic initially showed an 'airflow' fault.

There are two EGR valves on this engine and access to change them is 'interesting', workshop time is 4-5 hours...

Hello all,

Just fitting a new copper washer to my 1.6 hdi injector seat and have seen people post pictures of a seal and white nylon ring.

Strange question but where are these located? Are these fitted between the injector sleeve and cam box casing or do they contact with the injector?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have managed to disengage the electronic handbrake on my 2013 C5 tourer by having ignition on, pressing brake pedal and flicking hand brake switch. So I should be able to change the pads? Do I need diagnostic tool to reset/recalibrate the electronic handbrake? Happy to give it a shot but don't want to have expensive electronic repair!...

I can't really see why we need pollen filters in cars. What is the reason (other than a nice little earner for the dealers, etc.). OK, so you need a filter of some sort to protect the heater fan, ductwork and actuators, but why so fine? And why change every year? After all, we don't come equipped with pollen filters in nature and I, for one, don't...

I've added a Type B MFD & the Trip Computer button at the end of the wiper stalk to my '04 Berlingo and have some unexpected options on the MFD when scrolling through. Please can anyone help filling in the gaps?

Does anyone know the diameter of the dipstick tubing on the DW10C? It seems substantially narrower than the DW10B.

And just to be clear, I'm talking about the actual pipe from the sump that the dipstick sits in - not the dipstick itself.

I've recently purchased a C5 1.6HDI Estate with 116000 miles. It has a perfect main dealer service history with each service being carried out exactly to the 12000 mile schedule (up to 108K). It's running well and I'm generally very pleased, but am concerned about the prevalenece of turbo failures.

Hello,

my new 07 c5 exclusive Hatch Service light lights up at night for about 10 seconds and goes out again.
The car has just been serviced by Pleiades and from what I gather the service light was supposed to have been reset
During the daytime lights off the light doesn't come on at all.

Ive done a BSI reset and it did stay off all day...

It's not European legislation that's driven electronic control and on-board diagnostics - that was happening anyway, driven by the manufacturers (cheaper, simpler, faster to assemble, less skilled maintenance etc).

What European legislation drove was a common standard (connection plug and comms protocol) that all manufacturers must install (OBD)...
