C5 Mk1 vague gearchange - 2.2HDi

Hello.

I have an 02 plate Mk1 C5 Estate, 2.2HDi , ~217,000 miles

The gearchange is getting increasingly vague, especially for finding 1st......more usually reverse !

I'm assuming it has a cable arrangement that is getting worn, or linkages.......

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong, and what I should look for ?

First and reverse gears are usually the hardest gears to shift into. It may be the clutch not releasing fully, which would make it symptomatic of this problem.

There is a technical bulletin describing this issue that I'll PM you about.
