Xsara Picasso -05 interior light not working as expected
Interior light should go ON when door is opened. In my car the the light works only when I turn the key to have the electrics ON. Solution?

Is everything else working as expected? Is the clock keeping its time ok? Has anyone been messing about in the fusebox?
The interior light works like this when the shunt fuse is in the wrong position.

Xsara Picasso -05 interior light not working as expected
Hi Lucafaia,
There is a switch on the interior light above the mirror.
Three positions I think:
- Interior always off,
- On when doors open,
- Manual on.
Have you checked that?
Ciao, Captain K

That was the case In older models. 2005 model does not have that switchcaptainkephart wrote: 29 Aug 2020, 10:39 Hi Lucafaia,

Clock keeps its time. Once upon a time I smelled smoke In the fusebox. I disassembled it and checked the "motherboard" but did not find anything that looks bad. After that episode however, the rear lid hasnt opened anymore. I dont remember if interior light worked before that episode bcs I had just bought the car and it was midsummer In Finland (gets never darkwheeler wrote: 27 Aug 2020, 21:39 Is everything else working as expected? Everything else works fine. Which position the shunt fuse should be? In my car it is in the upper slot.

Best to post a picture to confirm if its in the right place, Later full CAN citroens have it marked as Park/Client but i dont think the picasso will have this as its not full CAN.

Same position as In this one: the slots are not marked, just FSI written beside https://images.app.goo.gl/LhK7ph86QG5xnGX89wheeler wrote: 29 Aug 2020, 11:35 Best to post a picture to confirm if its in the right place, Later full CAN citroens have it marked as Park/Client but i dont think the picasso will have this as its not full CAN.

The Shunt fuse is normally in the cabin fuse box. It SHOULD have one. I had a 54 reg Picasso as a company car, and once it started doing weird things. The RAC guy swapped the shunt fuse to the opposite position for a couple of minutes and then swapped it back the the car was fine.

That sounds like worth to try. Unfortunately it is impossible - the other slot is different size, the fuse like thing does not fit there.Hell Razor5543 wrote: 29 Aug 2020, 12:59 I had a 54 reg Picasso as a company car, and once it started doing weird things. Edit, noticed that a normal fuse fits in other slot, tried the trick with normal fuse but no luck

IF my memory is correct (and I am not certain of this) the SHUNT fuse has three 'slots', and it always uses two of them. If the slots are how I remember, they are like - - -. In one position you would have something like XXX - (the XXX is the shunt), while in the other position it would be - XXX. As I said, I am NOT certain of this, but it could be worth looking.

On the above type of BSI there is only one location the shunt will physically fit, when it leaves the factory a regular 30 amp fuse is fitted in the lower position which is removed at PDI & replaced with the shunt in the upper position.
On later full CAN cars the shunt can be moved across & fitted in either position.

That seems to make sense.wheeler wrote: 29 Aug 2020, 16:38 On the above type of BSI there is only one location the shunt will physically fit, when it leaves the factory a regular 30 amp fuse is fitted in the lower position which is removed at PDI & replaced with the shunt in the upper position.

Just thinking - I bought Lexia system, having not yet studied / installed it. But could it include some tools for maybe re-configure/fix the interior light behaviour?

There won't be anything to configure for that.
