Dpf

Unread post by Bodge79 »

Hi guys, first time posting. Ive had a message come up on the on board screen saying p filter add level low. I have a c4 picasso 1.6 diesel 2007. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated as well as cost.

Many thanks

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum.

It would help if you post up the VIN here, so that Forum staff can see exactly what your car had when she rolled out of the factory (for security reasons the VIN will be obscured so that only Forum staff can read it).

Basically it's what the message says - you need the Diesel Particle Filter additive topped up.

The Engine ECU looks at the estimated content of additive in the tank and compares that with the miles before your next service is due. If the estimated additive remaining will not last the miles until the next service (where this would be checked at a main dealer service), then it flashes the warning up.

So you need to get it to a garage that can top up the additive with the correct type and who can also reset the Engine ECU additive counter using a suitable diagnostic tool.

Your vehicle takes a pouch (2.4 litres).
