Hazard warning lights on sharp deceleration

Unread post by xf1ref »

Hi all, this feature is not working anymore. I saw working only one time, about 3 years ago, and it was not the sharpest deceleration. This year I had some situations where I had to fast decelerate but no sign of warning lights. I think that ABS turning on is a sing of sharp deceleration. The option is active in BSI but I'm wondering if this can be calibrated :?:

Have you tried doing an emergency stop that brings the brake-assist into play? That should force it or show it isn't working.
Marginal fast stops might not be sufficient to trigger it. Only ever had it once on each of mine. First time really was an emergency stop and surprised the hell out of me, I was very impressed.
Next time was the second C5 just to see if it was the same.

You have one option incorrectly configured there!

1) Automatic switching on of the hazard lights in the event of an impact option: MUST be configured as absent on this vehicle.

Certain functions work differently on different vehicles - and some values have compulsory settings and do not always work the way you think they do or are written. So change this option back.

As for the other issue - there is no calibration setting. The system uses different information to determine when to activate the hazards. It may be down to initial travelling speed, speed at which your foot hits the break, force / pressure of hitting the brake, angle of steering wheel at the time and or any combination of these things that determine if the hazards are activated or not.

Yes, I have tried and a few times I was forced to do this because of traffic and I think the brake-assistant should come into play. Strange is that the only time when I saw the warning lights working at sharp deceleration was on a national road at about 55 mph, braking at a road blockage.
On highway no sing of warning lights even if the deceleration was more brutal.

Here is my intervention, I was thinking that maybe this option should be active but I will switch back to absent.

It must be deactivated here or it could interfere with other aspects of the system that you won't be aware of. Different PSA vehicles have different ways of handling the data and that option is a mandatory value to be used on the X7.

As for the operation generally, several factors have to come into play. The system only works when it deems it necessary, when the exact conditions have been met and when all the data from the other sensors fits the prerequisites. Harsh braking alone won't activate it - it depends on how fast the car is travelling and how fast and how hard the brake pedal is pressed for example.

Thanks for answers!
In the car manual I saw the statement: "When braking in an emergency, depending on the deceleration the hazard warning lamps come on automatically" but seems that is not the only condition that must be met. I'm sure that I had sharper deceleration from higher speed without hazard light to come into action.
