Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Having an affliction for noticing numbers, there are days when the OTCL is a bit ...slow. Today so far is one of them.

I did notice at an average of about 20 posts a day the OTCL moved from 61,000 to 62,000 posts.

I would say that there are plenty of standard topics which are pretty easy to contribute too, so I would encourage everyone to lob up...

Well thats the Xantia good for another year,
New ABS rings on the front.
New sensor drivers side rear.
New control arm passenger side front.
New track rod ends.
Bit of welding on the drivers side sill at the rear.
Nice new MOT.

This geezer is quite a good watch and has done a couple of jobs on a c5 in his videos (including the wonderful rear brake calipers :) )

It seems he's also done jobs on a cx (he compares the rear calipers on a c5 to them and, like me, concludes 'what the hell have Citroen done to make the same design of caliper so crap on the c5 when it has none...

As you all seem to be an educated lot, I thought I'd ask here. :)
I'm working on alternatives for a 'domestic' style lighting system using 12 or 24 volt DC lighting. Ideally these should NOT be downlighters / spotlights as I want an all-round light. My thoughts turned to LED daytime running lights and ideally with a MR16 or GU5.3 type fitting -...

Ah ! I should have made clear - there's a need to use more or less conventional light fittings, so although strip lighting would work, I'm limited to somehow fitting the lamps into regular lighting fittings.
....although having said that, I wonder if the cuttable strip LEDs could be made to work ???? :)

My son who works for a Mazda/Ford dealership took this picture of a brand new Ford just before it was sent to the customer. This customer won't be the only one getting the new Festa as there was a whole batch of these new cars.

The thing that gets me is the laziness of the Ford designers, they just photocopied the design of the new Ford Fiesta...

Well winters problems, maybe Tesco's can help.

This was on offer so let's give it a try (offer @ £5.00) I have had a small drip drip drip on the AX sunroof (now resealed) so let's see how this helps with the slightly damp seats and resultant misting in the morning sun after a cold night.

I have found that, if you get the interior glass REALLY clean it takes longer for condensation to start, and it clears more quickly. This is because dirt can act as 'seed' points for said condensation.

Hope this is allowed - as SIMCA was eventually absorbed into PSA.

Our son-in-law is restoring a SIMCA 1100 LX and we said we would ask on here if any of the PSA vehicles had a front disk brake setup which would fit onto the Simca ?

Obviously its a long shot and possibly the answer might throw up a donor which is rare to find anyway - but...

I believe the Puma engine has been put in a Ka...Not hard allegedly as they are built on the same Fiesta-based platform...

A thought came to me - Ikea do solar panels. Not saying you should buy from them, but their website is interesting - in their assumptions they say 0.7% pa degradation. Maybe have a look and use it as a 'baseline' for comparisons.

Hi Guy's sorry this is not a Citroen question but I want to make an electric motor run for five mins. after the power has been switched off. I think this is poss. if I put a capacitor in the feed line to the motor. What do you guy's think????

It's either me or the air is really funny this evening...

I've just been out for a 5 mile run and noticed far more than usual that vehicle exhausts, both petrol and diesel, really smell awful and not only do they smell dreadful but I could taste them too and the taste really was foul... I can still taste them now...

If there is no wind, and you have cold and high pressure, then it is going to linger and the fumes may be denser. Diesels are deadly in those conditions I think. That is when my diesel smells worst under the carport if I am hanging around scraping ice.
Does the winter diesel not have a paraffin type smelly additive?

hi all, I don't know much about computers, but have an oldish desktop here.

I would like to occasionally upgrade it cheaply if possible..

I seem to be using most of my RAM a lot of the time.
