That's one of the plus points for hydrogen as an energy store, it is the most abundant element in the universe.

Dont worry about the Chinese though Gibbo ahead of the game....they have been securing cobalt and the other rare-earth element resources used in current battery technologies both at home and abroad, and hedging their bets, are also heavily investing in hydrogen developments too as our little "hydrogen vehicles still alive?" thread records.

From the article in the link above, this graphic of the world production of cobalt is from 2016
So what conclusions can be jumped to about that list? Well the article also suggests that 20% of the Cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are dug by hand, and still the DRC is by far the largest producer of cobalt.
