I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Well that was a short affair, the head gasket went on the xsara after about 6 weeks added to other faults with the car I have moved on to the next chapter, I now have a 2008 1.6 petrol xsara picasso desire, a much more useful car, lets hope it lasts longer than 6 weeks :-D

I find myself strangely attracted to Peugeot 307 SW vehicles. I am thinking about buying a caravan to go on short breaks/weekends etc and I'm wondering would the 1.6 HDi pull a caravan. because of the colossal road tax in Ireland a 2.0 is really out of the question. Caravan wouldn't have to be huge just SWMBO a couple of Bichon and moi!

You could look at the 308 doctle, it replaced the 307 in 2009 ish, and is reportedly similar but better, once you get past the daft bonnet proboscis! Check the bottom of both sills under the rear doors if you...

I am finding that since entering the world of ev ownership, my driving priority isn't getting from A to B as quickly as possible but getting from A to B preserving levels of battery charge by driving as efficiently as possible. Down-front electrical connections can have a rough time - weather, road spray, engine bay heat, etc.
Use some contact cleaner (or WD40 if that's all available) and a bit of repeated re-plugging (as you did) to clean the contacts up. Glad the French Horn section is working again!

Too right, almost by definition, the commonly used spade terminals...

I have developed an interest in hydrogen powered cars. Electric cars aren't going to be the answer for reducing carbon apart from the drain on the national grid to charge them there's the time, the range etc.
Hydrogen cars would be clean, take only a few minutes to refuel and have a decent range. With enough hydrogen pumps range anxiety wouldn't...

Hi Guys. Not been doing much this last few days except watching TV. Every few minutes there's an advert for just eat . The ads are fairly poorly made but on all the time. Fried food you only have to walk to the door for can't be a good thing and most take away food is fried and all of it seems to be unhealthy. Maybe Im just old and grumpy!

Oh well, result - probably bypassed it as you had an authentic account. Sometimes the answers will have to be exactly formatted as they were entered by the Administrators. - case sensitive for example - but, if the admins have spelt the answers incorrectly or mixed the case of the answers, then it won't work unless they are input exactly.

Okay a little vague in the title but my lad is looking at replacing his BMW ( sorry for the bad language ) for a C5.
He has picked one out that is close to us that seems to be okay but just wondered if people would be willing to look through the MOT and give me a heads up if they think there could be an issue that has yet to be addressed, my gut...

Does it ride as well as the C5? I notice that 1.6 Hdi C5s are fairly consistently cheaper than the 2.0., I wonder if its the lack of power or the terrible reputation the early ones had?

Well, after 35 years or so of DIY car maintenance, I achieved this milestone today.

Looking back....it was always going to happen....

Sprayed it with a bit of plusgas......didn't wait any length of time, no preheating/freezing or whatever, just put on the snugly fitting 13mm socket, and give it a gentle try with the normal ratchet.

Sorry :oops: Yes I know, I was looking at the place in Wakefield that will collect, recon and deliver it for about 180 pounds but it seems they don't last long, so as long as it keeps going its a lot easier to top it up. I probably will have to change it eventually but at 80 I don't have the energy or stamina that I did so will put it off as long...

Nice find Neil, Yes it is too short by a long long way. The record runs will demand using a minimum of 12 miles each way plus a safety margin so the 5 miles at Saltburn is not even enough to get up to speed!! :-D It is a great shame that we have to go to South Africa but that offered the best overall package when it was discovered back in 2009-12,...

See that some 1:12 and 1:18 models have appeared on the Ottomobile website, eg:
- Renault Clio 16v Mk1 1:12
- Renault 5 Turbo Mk1
- Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 1:12
- Citroen ZX 16v 1:18
- Citroen Xsara Mk2

Not cheap, but the detail on these is extraordinarily good.

So, the LEXIA arrived to much hand rubbing and fast breathing.

I read through the instructions and then recalled a convo I had with someone from ED.

They said 32 bit would work best as that is what the car ECU runs.

Excellent! I have the reboot disc for Win7 with the choice of 32 or 64.

So I dug out an old Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 with 32...

There was a case not so long ago when Amazon stood trial for endangering aircraft - because they shipped batteries separately! So don't blame the PO, they're just complying with Civil Aviation law.

Never heard of iPost but seems like I'm one of the few people who've never had a real problem with the PO, including sending stuff to Croatia...

Fairly predictable that diesel sales were going to plummet, and their Land Rover wing didnt even offer a token hybrid powerplant.

Needed some brake pads for the C15 in a hurry so started the inevitable trip down misery lane. First site seemed promising but, of course, won't let you just make a purchase, you have to log on/create an account (which is nothing of the sort) - except I couldn't because if I tried to register it said there was already an a/c with that e-mail...

I still buy oil at Trago's, but only over Christmas/New Year - when it's 20% off.

Since a major refit at Newton the car section seems to have shrunk BUT they do still have have a separate shop as well AND a seriously cheap petrol station!

So those pads might not be the rubbish the price suggested, we'll see but not expecting a revelation on the...
