I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Instead im getting up at about 5am and travelling to durham to go paddle a river! Now it's about a three hour drive, on boxing day! Secondly its gonna be baltic, there already forecasting lots of snow and ice. Im gonna be on this half frozen river praying that i dont have to roll for about 4 hours...

The Peugeot 206 has now featured on Watchdog two weeks running !
Many customers are having a problems with their cars cutting out.
Peugeot, and the main dealers are not looking very clever !
What's wrong with it, well the manufacturer, and the dealers are not able to work out what is causing it.
So, not much driveability, or customer satisfaction...

In terms of insurers you would have to prove beyond reasoanble doubt that you service the car EXACTLY as the manufacturer specifies at the given service intervals - lots of dated recipts and photos can help but if they want to wrangle out of paying, they will.
All this despite the fact that most garages never do a propper job when servicing.

I always use NFU Mutual now though, usually cheaper than anywhere else, and they were prepared to cover me for business use, and cover the car for 'Any Driver' which some insurers won't touch with a bargepole now.

Last year I had a 1.8 Laguna RT Sport.

Fully Comp with buisness use as a nurse it came to £375.
This year I have a Xantia 2.0 HDi Forte / LX
Fully comp comes to £614!
The only difference is in July I wrote the Laguna off on a shopping trolley park in B & Q. Ouch! - On line quotes using confused and a variety of other sites have produced prices...

I insured the Land Rover with Lancaster Insurance Services (01480 484848) for £185. Limited to 3000p/a, agreed valuation of £3000 and full RAC cover. The policy also accumulated NCD. Good people to deal with too.

Why not connect a domestic radiator between the halved copper pipe. Dry your socks while you drive.

Discovered why the AX is so cold. Why there is only a tiny tiny vestige of heat escaping from the vents....
There is NO spoon matrix.....

Its been replaced by a couple of jubilee clips and a small lenghth of copper pipe.
I have no idea if the matrix is still in there (probably) but presently the two pipes that come through the bulkhead...

What difference ??
At least the C5 has a cr@ppy version of **proper** suspension. It doesn't even have daravi or central hydraulics ... Not even high pressure brakes.
As for the others, why ?? There just rebadged poogoes ... how could you say ones better than the other... It probably comes down to which one you like the look of most.

On Friday last I received from DVlA a V11 - Licence or SORN expires on your vehicle on 31/12/04. I thought that odd and recehcked the licence disc - it does expire on 31/01/05. I was concious of the fact that a V11 which does not elicit a response by taxing or SORN notification can lead to an automatic penalty at the end of the month following...

Coolant flushed and changed ( was no anti freeze in it?! - there is now), Oil and filters done and new Cam belt (awkward and ready for changing, absoloutly NO WAY was that done at 50K miles).

It's the I have a right to get a drivers licence attitude that some of todays youth have. Because THEY are younger and have a more expensive car (third party insurance if any) they and many others have a get out of my way attitude . Some of the worst drivers apparently are those aged 18 to 25 and 55 onwards. Must be something in the water or gin.

I've noticed on very very cold days the bulb behind my fuel gauge doesn't come on in the morning, until I've been driving for a few miles then it decides to get out of bed & join its buddies.
Maybe its the bulb or the bulbholder that shrinks slightly when very cold, can't imagine the thermal movement is more than a few thou though.

I dont think i would be in there as in pic 5!The lights/battery held out for a while looking at the pics.Looks like no one was hurt though,almost.

This is mildly worrying, not because of the clear ferocity of the fire, or indeed how it took hold rather quickly (though they still managed to unload the bags).
No what worries me is the hapless tourists treating it like a picnic - photo 6 and 7 shows people very close just sitting around - one almost feels teh need to break out a thermos of weak...

AX - rear shelf / sunblind

Missing the rear sunblind on the ZX - The AX does not have one .
I Miss it most at night where it stops me being blinded by the bloody HID lights you get in new Range Rovers and Jags - great for illuminating the inside of my car!
Does anyone know if ANY of the AX variants had a screen, or if anyone did an after market one? I got an after market...

Dropper resistors i suppose - Thats how the majority of 24v - 12v adaptors work.
Funnily enough im just scratcing my head trying to work out the correct resistor to use to drop 12v to 3v to drive a blue LED - Used to do these sorts of calculations a lot.
Use 1W resistors if going this route ( I would anyway). Someone else may be able to suggest...

Great show, had the opportunity to try out many cars without a salesman breathing down my neck!
All the affordable cars there, and the lovely exotic cars that most of us can't afford!

Pulled car over to side of road to take phone call. While parked, and just after answering phone, there was a squeal of brakes, due to a dog suddenly running across from the other side of the road. It was hit, though hopefully not too hard, by the braking car.
The dog then ran, yelping and very shocked, under the car in front of me, hotly pursued...

Dodgy switch contacts can give weird symptoms like this. They will allow enough current through to light a small bulb, or show on a voltmeter, but not to run something that consumes huge current like a shower.
I wonder if the contacts in either the pull switch, or the ELCB have partially burned out ?
Is this a new installation, or has it worked...

To all you expert DIYers out there, here's my problem.
Electric shower with ceiling switch; fed from its own ELCB at the consumer unit.
Turn on the ceiling switch. Wee light on the switch comes on OK. There's live to the inside of the shower. But the power light on the shower does not come on.
Press the shower button. Nothing happens. Wee light on...

one of the little levers in the linkage (theres really only one) had to be reversed 180 degrees, suggest you put the wiper on and stare at it, WARNING a good mate chopped the end off a finger with a wiper linkage, theres a lot of torque there, how is the new AX?

How did you fettle the BX wiper to park on the opposite side.
Fancy doing this modification to the AX - had a look @ the wiper assembly and the Haynes BOL, but nothings leaping out at me...
