When I've poured used oil away at the dump, I've often wondered what they did with it. Now we know!!

You pour away used oil???!
Use it in your fuel tank with a bit of white spirit added (filter it first). Smells awful but runs ok! (DERV only of course)
Or you could use it in a very enviromentaly friendly way to paint your fence pannels or underside of the car. The Austin 1300 always got treated to old engine oil.
Not sure if I would want to run the HDi on anything other than semi synthetic new oil - the AX I may take a chance with.

Keeps the neighbours cat off the lawn if I leave some in bowl. Funny thing is though my cat still goes on the lawn. He must be use to old engine oil as he's been around longer than the wife. As for the recycling of old oil I thought that it always ends up refined and back out to the public as cheaper cut price oil or goes in to industrail heating oils.
