I have to know something - - - did the STIG really die?
I don't think so, but does anybody think he really died?

What the old stig? The black suited one?
They shot him off an aircraft carrier. Can't say for certain he is dead but the jag certainly is.

What i want to know is,WHO IS the Stig[?][?][?]Anyone any ideas?
Size wise,i thought maybe Johnny Herbert.He,or maybe even she can sure drive though.Maybe no one famous at all.[:)]

Yeah, the old Stig, they say he died but I don't think so, the whole thing seems 'fishy' to me..
I am sure they had a good idea of what could happen if he falls off and they probobly were ready for the worst case.
does anybody have a different idea?

I think if he had really died,they would have been in trouble.Just a stunt to reienvent(?)him.

The Stig was performing on Top Gear last night,so seems to be still with us.Seem to think he is Perry McCarthy (or something close).He apparently had a brief F1 career a few years ago.I agree,he sure can drive.

Dont know if this is true but a source of mine siad the stig is actually different people, for work reasons the same performance driver is rarely available for every top gear job, so he is a secret identity so it can be one of several top drivers.

Bingo! I agree with bxbodger. I rekon he is DH because he is about the same height as JC & him & JC are good friends.
ITV had a program 'sports sunday' or sumit that had PMcC on it they said he was the old SIG (black)

if PMcC raced at la mans then im pretty sure he was the old stig. A landrover dealer i bought my pug off had some cars borrowed by top gear team and he mentioned who the stig was and im pretty certain it was PMcC. No idea about the new fella

I'm pretty sure that the current Stig is Damon Hill - I used to work at Dunsfold aerodrome (where TG is filmed) when it was BAe, and everyone knew that DH lived in the surrounding area...
