Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Since that post, I have noticed myself using copper grease on any nuts or bolts I tighten up... Its costing an arm and a leg! I cant see anything wrong with it, as it makes getting the nuts off afterwards a hell of a lot easier, and results in less sheared bolts.

This is a sad - but unfortunately true - story from real life
Wife's colleague have an '02 Blingo.
As most Citroens the Blingo has an oil level gauge. This stopped functioning but thought as a minor problem. Just keep an eye on the engine oil level they were keenly adviced one day.
So they did. Bought one liter of the best oil every week and...

Ok it seems we have all sorts of people out there from many different back grounds. I'm being made redundant in 3 weeks and am now obviously looking for work. I have a very high hit rate for job interviews (always been offered the job even if I feel I’ve been really useless in the interview). Now today I went for an interview and I’m sort of 90/10...

Hello Stuart McB. Sorry for not replying to you before now, but I've had to prepare for, and attend a job interview so have only just now returned to the forum, and seen this post.
Your reply to the post on the Segway was ambiguous, and I must admit that I while in preperation for the interview, was surprised with the ambiguity.
I now can see...

Sorry mate about the last post . Was't having a pop at the post. The Why was intended for the 'segway'.
I read somewhere that even the inventors design and sales team weren't sure for what purpose the travel system could be used for on a day by day basis. Saw one in the flesh in Birmingham on a demonstrator day being used to make the public aware...

Why??????

How about this for a different idea, it looks like fun !
Tour Paris by Segway. Yes, you can hire them !
Here's the link :-
They have links with others, so you can even try a Segway out in the states, in Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington.
They are also linked with others where you can hire out bikes, but this looks more exciting.
It...

i just saw the other day a site with several citroën prototypes and i recall reading there that the design was originally for volvo, but they refused or declined the project from bertone, who gave it to citroën.

Last post

I heard the other day that the BX was originally shaped for Austin for the Maestro but Austin ran into development problems and scrapped the design that was then bought by Citroen. Dont know howe true this is but its an interesting story

The first question of the Q&A-
Q. Will the 'Easy Fuel Saver' void my Citroen bx car warranty ?
A. No. Since 'Fuel Saver Device' is an aftermarket removeable device, it will not void your vehicles warranty.
WARRANTY! Didn't realise Citroen extended one this far ........And they can't spell removable
Snake oil.

All that for £4.95!!!!!!!!!!!
But no picture, specifications, etc.............I reckon its a cheapo ekotec variant.
I wonder how many they have sold and why I can't find one on my neighbours Vectra, despite G.M. having invented it, whatever it is!!!

An Activa weekend is sheduled, once my exams are done and im road bound again. Infact an Activa weekend has been planned for AGES, it just doesn't quite seem to materialise!

Last post

With all the talk about BX weekenders 1,2 & now number 3 to take place soon, and come to vannys help.
Good luck vanny, and I hope the car is sorted for the car show.
It seems the Xantia, appears to be left out.
Has there ever been an Xantia, or even an Activa weekender

Cry For Help - BX Weekend 3?

Vanny. If you do find it's more than a dead turbo, and need a 1769ccTD engine to go straight in, I still have an ex-405 TD available. It's in brilliant condition with recent head skim & gasket. With the serious lack of space I now have with this 'ere Digit, I'd be willing to part with it for next to nothing.
And I'd be only too happy to shove it...

Hi Folks, well as most of you know after a successfull long haul trip down to portsmouth to get AdamSki's St Tropez BX (Which is a stupidly well behaved car!), my car became terminally i'll on the way home.
Discussions with a number of people has brought me to the conclusion that the Turbo has failed, and the Alternator has also failed in totally...

Good luck. There are several firms pottering about which can do things with those sorts of displays, one I am thinking of is a firm called Fylde Electronics who remanufactured some Rockwell Aim 65 displays when I was at college - these were similar but in red.

Gotit. After the last waste of time, when I went to go and get a BX DTR which left me stranded for a day, this collection went much better!
I'm going to put up a web page about this car in the near future, but for the moment:
What a funky car! From the looks of the car, it wasn't actually marketed as a BX DIGIT , as the one on eric's citroworld...

welcome to the forum Jim!

Last post

Just to say hello and introduce myself...
I have just become the owner of an early Citroen Xantia SX TD. It's my very first foray into real Citroens (had an AX years ago) after many Peugeots, including 405 Diesels and 205 Diesels.
I still have a Peugeot though, my very much loved and papmered 205 GTi. I have got the Xantia for Daily Driver duties...

4Car 100 Greatest Cars

ah hum... like those 4 x 4's that drive around on the school run, seen a few round here with low profile (eg about 2cm rubber) tyres on bigger rims, seemd realy pointless to me, you know, you get a 4x4, and adjust it so you wouldnt realy beable to take it on a proper muddy farmers track or something, thats one of the things that wind me up.......

The results are in, apparantly the British public rated the Calibra ahead of the Traction Avant, the SM faired even worse and is slagged off in its desription....DS not doing as well as I thought (no.22)....nearly all of the top 20 are supecars and the Greatest Car is the Mclaran F1. Get kinda fed up with the most important criterea when reviewing...
