Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Been using those kinds of premise for a long time, BX unattractive to thieves, slow old diesel, front wheel handbrake (no handbrake turns) joyriders look elsewhere, plus they have probably practised getting into and starting Frauds and vauxhells.

A lad at work crashed his Scooby in the snow today - so much for their rally derived 4WD system, eh?
The Impressya never impressed me. I don't have the curvature of the spine to be able to drive one with my head over the passenger seat, and 23 mpg (if you're lucky) must deter all but those most desperate to compensate for a small winky.

have you considered using a dawes device instead of a boost controller ?, much faster reaction time,
and for a boost gauge, i have always used the autometer ultralight boost gauges on my petrol turbo cars, they have a very good reputation and work very well

Why not get a new credit card with one of those 0% balance transferes and get the ZX on the new credit card and then cash on the bike. This way you'll have at least 9 months interest free on the ZX in which time you can either repair or sell on and clear the bill. Or the other way round.

Got a bit of a dilemma.... There is a garage near to one of my clinics with a K plate ZX 1.9D Reflex. Not in pristine condition, but not looking half bad with its alloys and gold metalic paint.
Its done a 146K, has a scrape of an MOT (May) and apart from a big hole where the wireless should be seems OK. Some odd dings and scrapes, but no where...

to be honest around london i think i see more C5's than i do BX's......... i imagine in about ten years time i will be driving a c5

about 12 computers in the car,(diy point of view)
well documented problems,
really a bigger class of car than 406`s,Mondys etc.

I know the feeling - looks like I'm off for at least another 3 weeks with a damaged left hand! - Fine but I'm not supposed to use it and in any event wouldn't get it dirty at the moment - so can't tinker with Citroens! (its a bit cold anyway!) (couldn't drive until yesterday!)
They are supposed to cut the power off as well today!

Should it not have twin webers?- mine did, but you are talking in the singular.....Check for a massive air leak at the joint between either of the carbs bodies and the manifold-this is your most likely cause, and they also need to be synchronised with a vacuum gauge, this gets rid of any flat spots.

I have fitted a Weber 38DGAS carb to my 205xs. It makes for fantastic performance, but there is a problem. It has a nasty flatspot, off/on the throttle, which I found was caused by a missing O-ring on oneo f the idle jets. When I replaced the O-ring, the car now won't idle at all, even though the flat spot has now gone.

Is it just the way I'm looking at the photo, or does this car only have half a driver's door mirror? Looks like the same sort of damage as was done to mine, so I'll keep an eye on it to see if it sells and for how much - at least my engine still works...

Well you can go to IKEA, and hope you survive the crowds, don't get a slap, and manage to get that sofa for Â£45.00 or as I spotted on ebay, you can get an Xantia:-

Thought you lot may be interested in this.
Just seen the video for Natalie Imbruglia's new song.
In it she drives an old gold cx in which she does some stunt driving (presume a stunt driver not her)
It starts by her going into a garage and pulling a dust sheet off then getting in and it looked like she was going at speed down a rough dirt track...

I kept on thinking they had largely disappeared, then realised that some days I see 2, 3 or even more fairly tidy ones - and that's not just when I drive over in mine to see Tom!
Might that BX16 be the cream one that kept on cropping up on ebay as an ex-demonstrator?

Not sure if its still there but noticed a Citroen BX 16 for sale on 'findit' site, apparantly got full history, looks in good nick from pic and only 29,000 miles since new....1990 car if I remember rightly. Finished in lovely cream colour, nice!!
Just noticed really how few BX's there are around now!! Have only noticed one in my area, silver 'K'...

Ikea is a place that can get busy most times, but I am pleased I was not near Edmonton (north London) last night.
The store expected 2000 customers, and on the news earlier it actually ended up with 6000 customers wanting to get in, with riot conditions developing, and a male customer was stabbed.

This scam's been around for quite a while now, and is applied to all sorts of advertised items of significant value. Apparently, it all works as claimed until the cheque bounces!

Might I suggest one of those marine style air horns directed back at him every time he offends.
Its unlikely the police would do anything though as he isnt sounding his horn to warn somone of his presence or warn somone to move out of the way they may have a quiet word with him and ask him to be more courterous.

Hi,
I have cold start problem. I can't start driving immediately.
I am waiting 5-10 minutes before driving. If I try to start immediately the car is chocked, with rich mixture.
When I push the accelerator pedal the engine starts to shake.
I've checked the coolant temperature sensor. But it is ok.

Just gotta get this off my chest.......ad pop ups are driving me crazy.....taken 40 minutes to do anything online as I was hit by so many ads that whole thing just kept freezing!!!! Think I should find people who post pop ups, tie them up under my BX and slowly lower the suspension......perhaps tie them to a bed of nails first!!! lol

Ive only used the cruise control a couple of times in my Supra as ive not had it long and I normally only drive in 30 limits etc. However im sure it must use more fuel as when its on it tends to get back to speed as quickly as possible and you can hear it using more throttle than if I am manually doing it. Cant really say.
As for other drivers...

Have just done a round trip of some 500 miles all on motorway except for 45 minutes getting lost up and down hills trying to find an address in Bristol! I was able to use the cruise control for a very large part of the journey. Set at a steady 80mph the car, a 2.5TD XM estate, has returned 39.8 mpg on the computer and a genuine brim to brim return...

Looks ok to me apart from the box.
How much is a recon Xantia box?
There must be a Xantia or 406 thats been stuffed around somewhere in a scrappy to get a good box from.

Can do better than that. M6, M5 junctions 8 to 10. More car park than motorway. Pointless as always blocked by European lorry drivers lately who still drive down the out side lane!!! AAAAARGH.
