I opened up an airbag controller recently. It had a lot of memory chips in it!

The bit which does the triggering, looks to be wholly re-usable. I haven't dissected this, but it doesn't give any hint of frangibility.

Anyhow - in a nutshell, I now share the confidence of established airbag resetting agents that the unit would function a second...

I'm no expert but I'll have a stab.

What injection system is it running on? Lucas/Bosch?

Did you say that the engine that died was 2002 and was non turbo? didn't know they still made a non turbo that late.

Reason for asking the above - There is the needle lift sensor on the Bosch system....that can cause problems.
You're absolutely right about...

I've seen many tutorials but still haven't found a complete dismantling guide, including full details and clear diagrams/photos so am thinking of doing this myself, if there's any interest?

I certainly would be interested :D
I'm sure in the future many others would also appreciate it.

Here you go. I've begun the strip down and guide. It's a...

They are worth checking out regularly as there are some good tool & DIY buys generally !
Noticed some long hex and torx T handle driver sets this week.

Well done John, I'll bet that's a relief !
Thanks also for the ntpasswd link --- could prove useful one day.

Just watched the race - best for a long time.

Just a quick PS. On another petrolhead mailbase I'm on we have a rule about not putting spoilers in thread titles and warnings if the messages contain spoilers as well in case there are folks who have recorded it to watch later.

I agree about the race, and that's a valid point about the non...

Well here's that very thread, but regarding the photoshoped comment, I am not guilty of any sudgested ion like that, as it seemed...

Hmmmm, think I might be a bit wrong here.

I've found some information that normal ADSL is a maximum of 8Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. This is from the original ratification in 1998. There are later variations of this which up it to 12/1.3 and even 12/1.8 over ISDN.

ADSL2 is originally 12/1 in 2002 when it was ratified. There are later variants...

Really stunning front, just a shame about the rear.

Nice to see they have actually made a working version though.

Me too !! But , not going now :( Was quite looking forward to that !

Try this, new policy for a provisional license holder (26 though) with me as a named driver on the 306 = £400 quid, bargain!

Mind you there is a bit of a French connection. Glenn Close plays the infamous scheming Marquise de Merteuil in Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

I decided to finally upgrade my laptop to Windows XP SP3 which some speak highly of. Unfortunately it clobbered my existing Windows 2000 before failing to complete the installation itself leaving me in the lurch for a day or so.

A risky business, upgrading

About a year ago i was asked to help a disabled relative to find a new car, an automatic. They had never driven an automatic before but due to medical reasons they would soon need one.

So my immediate first stop was at the Citroen dealer, where we drove a Automatic Picasso. A 2.0 petrol, it was ok but i was less than impressed with the picasso,...

i think it did run till 2300hr's and some people who did not get lost in the centre of london on the scenic tour to brentford, i belive went back to the cafe afterwards,

I usually encourage defensible cases (and if you lurk on the net's many automotive websites they come up often enough) to proceed to court.

Prior processes are certainly intimidating - this irks me as I don't like enshrined bullying. Best of luck to the OP. :)

Hi All

Each insurance company decides its own spread of risk that it wants to take on and the segments of the market that it wants to sell to and at what price. They also run detailed computer programmes ranking types of risk against cost of claims. They match this against their current risk book. This then determines who they would like to sell...

I had RAC on automatic renewal.... when I got this years notification 'no need to do a thing we will take care of everything' it was for £217.0. So I phoned and said the same cover was being advertised on their Web Site for £145.0 they said that price was for 'new customers only' so guess what! I'm now a 'new customer' WITH THE AA
So much for...

Im on BX number 22

If you make an account at www.photobucket.com or similar you can upload your pictures there and post them directly into your threads.

inside the citroen showroom there are several levels each with one car on each level has a circular deck which appears to just be floatting in space, and then these decks have a turntable on top with one car each, on the underside's of each deck there are kalidascope mirrors, the crash helmit on the bassmet/lowest level the visor is a large rap...

unless it's a D9 VVT V6 406 Coupe......

How did you know. Precisely what I'm after!

Thanks for that information about Duel that was trucking interesting  to hear about what has happened since the film was made, and how they made it. The video that the owner shot of it was done well, and must concern those who saw the film previously, and then find this rig near them on the freeway.

The guy who now owns the Duel truck, as...

I like this concept and it's good recycling !!
My Mum recently changed her TV to an LG flat screen LCD and I had the task of disposing of the humungous old 32 Toshiba CRT set. This was a mega top of the range set when new and had surround and sub etc. Being a junkologist I couldn't resist having a peek inside for any useful salvage , so out came...

impressive , think i only saw some italian exotica or japanese future car with that on top gear in the 90's

I fed the guy the link to the 306 tuning guide to get him started :)

Oh dear....I really should have googled NSFW before opening the picture
Still, im not at work yet so it doesn't matter

Incidently NSFW means NOT SAFE FOR WORK

No worries mate.

It has discs on the rear.

You won't get the headlights off without removing the bumper. Also the cross member will have to be removed because one of the bolts is behind it. See my piccy:-

Headlamp bulbs can be replaced with lamps in situ. It's the sidelight bulbs that can't be reached. It's worth doing both sides.
