I may have to fly out to Madrid tomorrow to drive a van back to the UK.
That takes me back through France although not sure of route ATM.
I could therefore possibly collect stuff to bring back if that is of use to anyone ?

I did a road trip to Alicante a few years back (in a Merc Sprinter van
) and was disappointed we crossed the Millau Viaduct twice but both times in darkness
We only knew we were on it because it got a bit windy up there
Have a great trip
There really is some great scenery on the way and some awesome roads...

Re: Van coming from Madrid tomorrow , can possibly collect s
I drive the journey twice both ways every year, and have done for the past 14 years. A very easy drive. From Madrid take the N1 to Burgos. It's dual carriageway all the way and toll free. Just before Burgos take the AP1 and pay the 6 Euro toll down to Miranda. It's worth it. Then back to the N1 which is dual carriageway and toll free all the way to San Sebastian. Then it's the A8 to the border. Fill up at the Elf/Cepsa station close to the toll booths. Diesel is cheaper in Spain than France. Over the border take the A63 and pay the three small tolls. It's worth it to avoid all the coastal towns. After 20 miles the N10 is motorway standard but toll free for a 100 miles to Bordeaux. Bordeaux has a ring motorway - I find it best to go anti-clockwise. Ignore the A10 and keep to the N10 through Angouleme - unless someone is picking up the toll charges for you. The N10 is mostly dual and fairly fast. At Poitiers Sud take to the Autoroute and pay the toll to north of Tours. The A28 up to Rouen is fast but terribly expensive. I always leave the A10 at junction 29 and use the N10 up to Chartres, Dreux, Evreux, and Rouen. From Rouen, take the toll free A28 to Abbeville. The A16 has a toll to Boulogne, then its free to Calais.HDI wrote:I may have to fly out to Madrid tomorrow to drive a van back to the UK.
