Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

2ltr Petrol Auto, 6th months MoT...Zero rust...a few scrapes and a wing is dented. Auto Box reportedly slips into neutral , well it didn't on the drive home :)

It really does drive very well indeed.

You must have got lucky, my Bosch drills basically a paperweight and the 2 year warranty is worth jack because I've used the drill for drilling :shock: . I moved to Makita for now and aspire to Milwaukee in the future.

At least the Xantia will help keep a few of its cousins on the road, its not a total loss and you learnt how much fun auto boxes...

Thought the forum might assist here...from one of my fleet...not French but a common problem sufffered also by a French member of the fleet.

I've just done a new deal with TalkTalk for my broadband, they've sent me a new router.

I've been using a Netgear router for a long time without any problems so do I use the new TT one or stick with the Netgear?

My God I what a wonderful car the Citroen C5 Airscape is. It was first shown in 2007 and then the facelifted c5 x7 was introduced. I am sure the c5 airscape would give the like of BMW /Audi/Mercedes a run for their money.
Why ho why did Citroen not carry on with the car and get it on sale. I am sure I would remortgage to get one.

Is it just me, or has almost the entire world lost any trace of an idea of what constitutes acceptable audio quality? Has listening to the entire world through 0.00001 speakers with a frequency response limited to between 18,000-22,000Hz just become so normal that everyone has...

Another option for Android navigation is . Offline maps and reasonably good navigation. I use both this and Tomtom's android apps, Tomtom has a slightly better routing algorithm and live traffic data, osm have more up to date and accurate maps.

Certainly fitted to 205 normally aspirated as well as the Visa. Likely to be present on quite a few 1.9 N/A units too such as 405.

I was just wondering what its real purpose is, I've always assumed its to compensate for the shortish exhaust manifold, although I wonder what effects would be experienced if it was blanked off. :-k

Hmm.

Older engines (to be fair usually OHV) chain drive. I'm not going back enough to think about sidevalves, I do not know about these and have not looked.

Newer engines belt drive cam

Newer still: Some back to chain

Older engines (as in 1960's or earlier) typically a paper or mesh oil filter in a bowl / housing

Newer engines neat spin on...

Apologies up-front for this having almost nothing whatsoever to do with French Cars . . .

During the last couple of years, I've built some modest-sized hi-fi speakers - two of the pairs to provide good sound to go with flat-screen tv's.

The units were made from 19mm MDF, and the speaker drive units themselves were 1 x 5 Pyle Pro PDMW5, and 1 x...

I have been trying to join the C4 Picasso forum now for two or three day's. I know I have a c5 and not a c4 picasso but the c4 picasso does share the egs6 gearbox so I thought it would be useful. I have been waiting for my permission to log on but I think they are all asleep.

I've just had a moment of catastrophe trying to drink water and use my laptop at the same time. I coughed and absolutely covered the screen and keyboard in water. The laptop quite sensibly turned off and is now sitting on the radiator drying. I shall have to fetch my tiny screwdriver from work tomorrow and some contact cleaner to make sure it is...

I was wondering about this as there's not enough sensible information that I can see.

Its clearly stated if you increase your engine CC you have to provide details so that either you pay more tax due to emissions or for older cars (the part I'm interested in) if you go from < 1600cc to greater than. It clearly states for this that the tax is...

Has anyone else had the problem where you start a policy with a certain amount of no claims discount, say 10 years, and when the policy ends they try to fob you off with proof of NCD for 5 years.

I've got an HP A3 printer, it failed to start, pressing the start button just flashed the green light, I stripped it down and checked out the circuit board and found that the yellow gummy stuff that supports the various electronic components had become, with age, conductive.
I've carefully removed it with a craft knife and the thing's back in...

Have been given some coins to dispose of for a family friend.

2 Silver crowns - 1897 (Victoria golden jubilee) and 1953 (QE2 coronation).
1913 Gold sovereign (not sure why 1913?)

All look uncirculated to me.

E-bay trawl suggests the 5s coins are worth maybe £25 for 1897 (although I saw one at...

I would like to build some sort of car ramps or a lifting device that will be enable to raise the vehicle to a height that will enable to get under the vehicle to basic things. I dont mean a full height lift like in the workshops. I hope that you will be willing to share your knowledge.

I am amazed at the amount of sellers who finish their advert by saying No time wasters ! Is there a more stupid thing to put in an advert?

I'm getting fed up with the Kia. Constant irritating silly problems that Kia aren't all that bothered about. I am rather taken with the 3008 and there don't seem to be any common problems. Or maybe the c3 Piccaso. Any views or experience of these cars? I know there a bit modern but thought I'd ask.

My sister in law has had 2 C3 Picassos, first was a 1.6Hdi, second and current is a recent but second hand 1.2 Puretech 110 engine one. Very practical, can get bikes and stuff in boot easily. The first one she bought 3 years old and sold on after another 3, nothing wrong with it but she has no diy skills and wanted to move it on before any work...

Morning all,
Finally got to do the cambelt on the xant yesterday, my word, that makes the bx16v belt look like child's play!!
Glad i did as the belt was shot! Split as i pushed it of the pulleys! But My Word what a job that is, reading the threads here doesn't quite prepare you for the hours of joy that await :-D There really should be a market...

Well seems o forgot to tighten tbe tensioner middle bolt yesterday, timed up fine on belt side but was off on the flywheel! All redone tensioned nicely then the blooming tensioner middle bolt sheared so hadto pull it all off again to get acess to the stud and then redo it all, So now ive done it 3 times, twice more than i wanted too! :-D gave up...
