...having a browse of eBay, noticed this, wow we all know Lancia's rust, but I've never seen anything like this....

....and secondarily, if less impressively, take a look at the 405 listing

I've saved some of the photos of it as 'inspiration' to stay on top of the maintenance of mine, which due to weather conditions and other factors is actually proving very difficult of late.

Re: Rust....
That Lancia isn't too bad, front wing excepted. There's a similarly far gone example of a Thema IE on the patch of land where the Mi16 is, and the doors are literally falling off at this point despite being a later model. Mind you, that one has been sat out in the elements of the Peak District for a good few years so probably to be expected,

Re: Rust....
All the Italian car brands suffered the same problems, they were built for the Italy climate and not prepared for the UK, FIAT, Lancia and Alfa Romeo all fell apart in a very short time unless the Brit owner did his own rust proofing.

Looks like even the glass in the quarterlight has a rusty hole in it!

Re: Rust....
I have to say, that's quite a rarity these days on eBay..... a car listed as a 'barn find' that really - genuinely - is a barn find

Re: Rust....
in that period the Italians were famous for brilliant engines, awful bodies; in fairness, other countries offerings weren't wonderful either.
D'you think that the Floorpan will be such that Fred Flinstone could try out his new Running Shoes?
Oooh yes, rusty glass, that's one for the young 'uns me thinks.... now I'm off for a long weight

Floorpan? a-what's-a one-a doze? (kinda hard to pull of a corny mock-Italian accent via the medium of text!)
And while you're there can you fetch me a bucket of welding sparks and a skirting ladder?
P.S. I actually got the "bucket of steam" down to a fine art, empty the sand out of a fire bucket, chuck an old towel in the bottom and fill with half a gallon of boiling water. Replace lid & arrive back to smirking foreman only to wipe the smile off his face when opening the lid and asking him why he was just stood there letting it all blow away...
