Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Discover its the basis of the Pennine Cycleway which goes from Derby to Berwick upon Tweed all 350 odd miles of it. Woke up this morning to 5 missed calls from the inlaws, they got in their Motability Prius to go shopping and it sounded like a tractor... Long story short, thieving scum have cut the catalyst off the car overnight!

This is in a quiet village in Cheshire so not exactly South London or the Bronx lol, anyone else experienced this pond lifery going...

Peugeot 508.

The C4 was probably the most reliable car I’ve ever owned, had it all over Europe and never had a single issue. Great car and exception for what it was on the motorway.

My computer died, so I bought a refurb HP to replace it.

So I've got the new one up and running but I have a lot of stuff on the SSD from the old one, my Microsoft Money e.g.

The new comp is 64 bit, the old one 32 bit, how do I get the stuff from one to the other?

I have a usb adaptor for the SSD but I'm a bit unsure if I can just plug it in to...

I'm wary of buying memory from eBay, too great a possibility for it to be incorrect or damaged. The Hynix stuff you linked to was very cheap, suspiciously so.

I have three bags of plain and one self raising. I bought a bag of plain then discovered one at the back of the cupboard, then bought a bag of 'strong white bread flour' a couple of weeks...

Some months ago we were told that MOT's that were due between March 30th and the end of September would be extended by 6 months. The Xantia is due on 9th August so falls into this category. Today I stumble across this story by accident saying that the AA etc are pushing for this to be repealed:

I Once put a ford pinto into a vauxhall chevette. I mated an Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 twin cam to a Getrag 5 speed gearbox and put that into a Chevette!

These young chaps don't know what a Chevette was, they maybe think we are Americans! How did your swap work out? I had Weber twin 40 side draughts and the driveshaft was wobbly. Straight line...

A couple of photos. First one shows the Ford rear axle with GpIV Chevette brackets welded on. You can see the 3l Capri rear brake drum clearly. There's a strengthening bracket (a bit of angle iron!) welded on for extra strength to resist bending. IIRC the diff contains an LSD of some kind. Somewhere underneath all that is the shaved 4HA axle that...

Well after 20+ years of Peugeot ownership I for the first time had to buy a special service tool from Peugeot to complete a job on my 308 T9.
£6.94 for a special zip tool to refit the front seat backrest covers as there zipped secured at the bottom.

It was £6.94 & worked perfectly first time for both seat covers.

Ok I know it's a TFT screen but what is it off? It was in the boot of the C5 when I got it first and has sat on my shelf ever since.

Not been more than 20 miles since mid March. My daughter moved the day before lockdown, our plan was to deliver her bike to her now she has room and need for it but that got put on hold. I noticed a seller on eBay selling a copy of a PDF based workshop manual on CD for the C5 X7.

I presume this is just the relevant images and text extracted from the usual Citroen searchable workshop manual and not some new source and form of a manual that Citroen has published ?

All those PDFs can be downloaded freely and for free anyway, but it's good to know they're from the genuine Citroen workshop manual. I have previously found a Russian complete printed workshop manual in my online trawling, but as my Russian isn't up to much, and it appeared to be printed on bog paper, I haven't bothered with it much :rofl2:

I'm sure one of you guys can answer this question. Out of boredom I'm making a car trailer. I been offered an axle, he says is made with hubs off a French car, it has only 3 wheel nuts, what car is it off? Any clue as to wheel size? Are bearings etc available if needed? Mucho thanks

If you declared SORN on your cars at the end of last month.....CHECK your bank statements as DVLA has not actioned a lot of them....mine included (just checked)

Raise an enquiry via their website so there is a record...include the SORN reference number they sent you via email/paper.

Now that ServiceBox is charging for data, I thought members may be interested to know of .

You can search by VIN, and it pulls data from ServiceBox, so you can find the same technical diagrams and part numbers as ServiceBox.

I understand that Marc feels Catcar isn't sufficiently precise, but I find it useful nonetheless.

They are out, and spotted 2 so far today.

A Mini Cooper,, the good thing about them is they are recognisable. The other thing flashed by on the A189 and could have been anything....SUV-ey in style and silver. The ubiquitous anonymous.

Exhibit A....This example is a Renault Clio under seat seat-belt pretensioner link. It has a stupid red plastic bit but I havent yet worked out how to pull the connector apart. Haven't worked out the secret combination of what to what to lift up/press down/slide out or whatever.

There are never any instructions and I have failed the initiative...

Another example of the PITA Electrical Connector

This one from an O2 Sensor. As well as being of itself a PITA, its at a PITA location. Some may have perfected the one-handed disconnection of a PITA electrical connector.....not me. The only position I found to get 2 hands at it was to lean over the engine bay and stuff a hand/arm down either side...
