:(
Picasso story begins 2018

Needing a car that would be good on fuel easy for old bones and a nice ride height not to mention nothing to new and a load lugger when needed. :-D

So Gumtree provided the answer a 03 Citroën xsara picasso 2.0hdi following advice from a few good members on french car forum i tested a 1.6hdi & the 2.0hdi . As members on here confirmed the 2.0hdi was certainly the better choice so one i found on gum tree was the one to buy £400 for the 2003 plate average miles tatty but running perfect. :-D

I set about giving the old girl a clean inside &out which made a big difference . Then a service .
2019 New timing belt kit as the old one was perished also new coolant. =D>

2020 2 new tyres £37 for 2 found a coupon online 2 for 1 deal very lucky.

2021 New glow plugs , injectors removed cleaned refitted, Then it was nearly killed by flood water had to remove the injectors again turn engine by bottom pully to get the water out & after a long crank it fired back into life.

2022 January upto the end of may everything was fine till several almighty knocks at the front and a change of weight difference on the front it was the end both front shocks had failed followed by brake fuild leaking out of the fluid bowl and a smell of coolant several days before hand with unusual temperature fluctuations and no coolant loss visible was time to call it quits.

Farewell my trusted xsara picasso you wonderful push me pull me car you carried my firewood the dog the shopping stuff the tip runs you were great i will miss you lots . Its going this weekend for the sum of £351 scrap considering i paid 400 .. it did me well. =D>

Thank you to marc, richard, wheeler, mickthemavrik & everyone else that helped me with advice regarding this car when i had it your help was brilliant and i can't thank you all enough

She has certainly been a workhorse for you it seems! No problem and good luck with the replacement!

Always sad when you part company with a car you've enjoyed but like me and my C5 you have to look on the positive, you have removed another polluting diesel from the environment which is at least a small consolation!! :(

Yeah another diesel off the road. I would recommend any C8/Pug 807/Fiat Ulysses as a car/van. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The machines that scrap them are diesel powered, stop them by saving cars from the crusher.
