Does anybody have a peugeot citroen 2.1 IDI cable operated bosch injection pump on thier car? If so i would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me the bosch part number of their pump think it should start with 0460 so Pug bus can build me a 1.9bosch pump to 2.1 specifacations as im struggling to find a 2.1 pump to replace the lucas setup...

I know there was a debate about the large service intervals, but this is partly aimed at those with older (diesel) vehicles.

Is it just me who likes to do the 6k oil +filter change even earlier ? , at about 4k to 5k or (assuming I have not done that mileage) every six months at the most ?

I also replace the fuel + air filters every third oil...

Hi folks, just thought i would up-date you on my Xant VSX TD , as you may gather from the title , the search for a power steering pump has been abandoned , and the car is more or less finished . :( :(

I did the front pads last weekend, while i had the wheel off i liberally sprayed the steering UJ with plus gas , this seemed to do the trick , and...

This may be of interest to the Irish folk more so but none the less another example of our goverment trying to bleed us dry for every last cent we have :evil:

What are the day to day benefits of a facelifted HDI Xantia over a TD earlier one? also what are the mechanical downsides....?

Im thinking...get a non hydractive Xantia with aircon, replace the spheres, get it tip top and keep it clean and tidy.........

My Xantia suspension makes a tink noise when driven moderately to hard on rough surfaces. Perhaps akin to dropping a 3/16 ball bearing into a glass-lined sugar bowl. Sound appears to be on the driver's side.

It only occurred to me recently, that my belt is about 80K old (say, 50K miles) - at least. XU10J4R motor, with aircon.

I'm wondering what belt life people have found in terms of realistic expectation. It doesn't look aged. Damper pulley was replaced when cambelt done last (2008).

I've never done this before so I'm not really sure how to go about it, but I'm considering buying a Xantia from Kent which is currently a non runner, and want to get it back to home in Stoke.

I understand that I would probably need a trailer or something to keep all four wheels off the road, or a pickup/recovery truck, but that doesn't...

At the usual venue of Little Horwood, Friday settling in and curry night, Saturday convoy drive and evening meal of Beef Bourguignon etc, Sunday main day. Full English breakfast and picnics available on Saturday and Sunday, with free tea, coffee and squash all weekend.

Oh and for Malcolm's benefit a dedicated first aider :lol:

I have one of thee from my days at Telewest and BT but for some reason i can not get it to work when i put a new battery in it :(

Is there anything that i can likely service in the unit to get it back to life as its a very usefull tool and would be great for electrical stuff related to the car or to sell on and fund more car bits :)

There appears to be some serious delays from the forum server, often leaving me so frustrated I close the browser and go do something else.
