Hurrah for the DVLA

Unread post by CitroJim »

I know the DVLA comes in for a lot of stick one way and another so i just wantwed to redress the balance a tad and throw them a bouquet :D

I began the process of transfering the registration from Rattiva to my red Activa on Thursday. A pal dropped off the documents by hand into the Northampton office.

Today, when I arrived home, the documents were there on my doormat, all complete :D :D

Not bad at all.

My red Activa will be wearing N2XAN in a couple of hours..

Good work by DVLA there.

I still await the new V5Cs and the replacement MOTs but the essential work is done.

I now understand why when a car looses a cherished plate the replacement is non-transferrable to another vehicle; it gets its old original plate back. If this could be transferred then this could not always happen.

That would be a great one but no, she's just got her original number back. I was able to confirm that as I have the full service history...

Richard, yes we must get them together one of these days :D

I admit a bias here but I just love the colour of Richard's XAN71A.
Mine was identical (once).
There was only me liked it though :(

Both these cars look gorgeous,I'd be chuffed to bits driving either of em :D
Jim, I prefer your colour,(looks deeper and richer than mine),spoiler etc, (where could I source one, spoiler, were many Xants fitted with them?) Can see me trawling the scrappers/ebay, drill - bolt each side?

Hate to say it Jim  as your plate is great, but I think Richards plate just tops it,nice one 8-)

By the way, Richard, (dumb noob Cit owner q )! Is that a stainless zorst, just looking at the tailpipe, and how come you've no 3rd brakelight in the tailgate?

Flippin eck, only been a Citroen owner for not long and I already sound like a trainspotter/anorak

Either way, both are smashing cars, I can't do with new cars nowadays..no character,to clinical etc, not like old, comfy cars 8-)

The exhaust is mild steel, its clean because the car never goes out (at all at the moment  ) I store it in the large garage at work where its very safe  .

The reason for no third brakelight on the tailgate is that the car was built on the 5th July 1996 just prior to the brakelight being added, the car was in stock until it was first registered on 28th March 1997. If you look at the photo very carefully there is a third brakelight at the top of the rear window (Citroën accessory).

Franklin, there looks to be some interesting machinery in the background of your garage, what is the red car with the steeply raked windscreen behind the Roller?

The DVLA seem quite good at transfering reg plates.

I went into the most local DVLA office to swap my number plates. I was in and out within 10 minutes with the new tax disc and MOT certificate with the new reg, ready to transfer the number from one to the other. Very good service.
