I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

There are two 1.2 8v Clio Authentiques I kind of look after for two girls at work, if I didnt they wouldnt ever get an oil check etc. Both Clios are 2002 plates.

One of them seems to have a problem with consuming oil. I serviced it about 3 months ago with the correct grade and high quality oil. I checked it over today to find the oil level now...

You're right about the neck of the filler cap. I really doubt the area gets touched by the oil which will naturally end up in that kind of build up.

And the steering wheel... It's HUGE! It really spoils the feel of driving the car which is a shame. That was the thing I hated most about the Clio.

Hi All

Got a bit of play (so the tester says) on the inner balljoint of my power steering rack, anyone know if they are adjustable, or even if these joints are interchangable with the normal rack (I have a spare)

To answer my own question, I bought a replacement Track rod for about £12.00.
Just need some big grips to get the old one undone, I took off the rack and put it in the vice, They just screw off but are held on by a jagged washer that allows it to tighten but not undo so give it some stick.

i`ve had 3 espace - 2 mk 2`s (TD and 2 litre petrol) and a mk3

avoid mk 3`s - really.

they are a huge PITA to work on , the engine bay is beyond a nightmare - you have 6 inch`s clearance to change the spark plugs - its a total joke , computer to run the lights? meh

the TD mk 2 was the best of the them , the petrol mk2 was the juciest by alot...

I think its an S2 anyway... Its on an 03 Plate, basically the S1 rear end and the facelift front.

Anyway.. had the owner pop to see me, they are complaining of stalling - it wont idle when cold, and also when warm, but not as bad.. Apparently it will cut out on corners too..

Yes I did it to my wife's 93 Clio 1.4 RT, you'll also need the steering column as the power steering version is shorter, also possibly the brackets and adjusters for the pump. It wasn't too bad a job to do although I did it some 10 years ago or so so I'm a little hazy on the details.

The glo plugs are fine. The fuel system seems under pressurised but if I crack open each injector supply it will start when I see fuel spurting out. It runs normally but the longer I leave it I have to do the same routine to start it.
One thing I have noticed is that if I sqeeze the fuel bulb (by the filter) it pushes air down the line when before...

Due to Serious engine problems I've Changed Engine completely. So all plug sensors etc.have been off and reattached,

Turbo cutting out under full load

Hi The turbo on my 2003 Scenic DCi 1870cc (Last of the old shape) is playing up I think its just a sensor but I am not sure which one so any help appreciated.

When I pull away the turbo is working fine but as the revs build up when I am giving it full throtle suddenly it's like the turbo shuts down and the engine reverts to a non turbo diesel....

My Kangoo (W reg 1.4 petrol) keeps cutting out and when going from high rev down to lowest engine revs.

Engine is losing some oil (not from sump or seals)
When taking off the air intake/filter and looking at the accelerator cable there appears to be an electric sensor (idle control valve) on the rear of the housing (...

You will always get a small residual amount of oil through the air inlet into the throttle body, more so with turbocharged vehicles than normally aspirated ones though. Thats how throttle bodies get gummed up over time. If the O ring that seals the pipe to the throttle body is perished then some oil seepage is common.

Gently pull the plastic wheelarch liner away from the bottom of the wheel arch and there is a tube with a rubber cap/flap , remove this and see if it drains now . If it still continues try a blast with an airline , generally crud accumalates at the bottom of the drain , I used a long cable tie to clear it

I wouldn't bother with that, you can get working 1.9DCi LagunaIIs for little more money, certainly less than the repairs would cost plus the purchase price.

Often more trouble than they are worth too, unless its a looked after car. But with a second hand engine you wont know what your getting, and the 1.9dci is a bit iffy really.

as title

fan doesnt work even with the air con on,

its not siezed up all the fuse's are ok,

my freindly auto lecyhas probed it and says the is swithching live but tyhere is no earth at the fan plug,

were dose the fan pick earth up from, just to maybe save some time traceing it down,

My son has become the proud owner of a 57 Clio Campus Sport with only 3k on the clock. Sat in it the other day, I turned on the ignition but did not start the engine. I had to get rid of my red txd 1.7 bx. Its at bullwinkles

I have now got a renault Laguna 1.8 16 valve Exspression.

Its the toxic fume filter system warning light.

The missus managed to run her battery down listenign to the radio while cleaning out the car this morning and she had to jump it. Everything reset and the windows all only move up and down about an inch or two at a time . So you have to keep flickign the switches to get it all the way up or down.

Ok guys, I've got an 02 laguna 1.9 dci, the bloody thing keeps popping 30 amp fuses, now it won't even start, just blows the fuse as soon as ignition card goes into the slot, the fuse cover isn't marked up but its the right hand of two 30 amps side by side

i had a few problems with mine a while back but the level on the dipstick was on the top mark it turned out to be because i was parking the car on a slope so the oil in the sump was running to back and giving the sensor the impression that the level was low.

Problem: Flat battery...

Battery state indicator showing green, an apparently ok battery.

Another known good battery fitted, car back to life, engine running a nice 14.2v into the battery, however, with ALL electrics on thats Lights and full beam, heater blower on...

Paul its easy to check the alternator with a multimeter across the terminalls but i would check across the battery terminals as this would indicate the amount of power reaching the battery and loom as there should be regulators between the alternator and the battery other tell tale signes would be poped fuses etc

Espace fans anywhere?

Hi from Australia,

Just wondering if there were any real Renault Espace fans out there? There seems to be loads of them in the UK but Renault Australia dont import them here to Australia. I personally love them and would love to get some fan sites and some cool pics including interior shots please? Can anyone help?

Well the electric sliding doors can be a headache if they decide to misbehave. They tend to think there's something in the way and bounce back refusing to shut. A load of other random little electrical gremlins... anti-pollution systems etc. Do an owners review search and you should find out what you need to.

Then again, most of the cars I buy...

Hi folks i got my scenic air con regassed today and then went to try it,the air con button wont light up when pressed even the next same type switch for heated rear window works,I am desperate to get the air con working what do i do?cheers Gaz

Where did you take it for a re-gas? I would take it straight back! Kwik-fit give you your money back if the air con doesn't improve... other places should do the same.

Renault Laguna II Privilege problems

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here so go easy on me!!!

I have just purchased a Laguna 2.0 Privilege today, nice car, have previously owned 2.0 Dynamique model which I changed for a Citroen C5 2.2Hdi SX Auto, huge comfy car but rubbish fuel consumption and has the dreaded particle filter so changed this for another Laguna.

A Privilege model, very nice! The velour is a nightmare to keep clean but very comfy!

I'm afraid the Cabasse CD Changer is well known for disc loading problems. My Vel Satis used to just randomly stop playing a CD, display ERR CD then spit all 6 out.... not very fun while on the motorway. My aunty now owns this car and phoned my just yesterday to...

Clio Front Wheel Alignment

My wife has an October 2009 Clio Mk4 (new shape) 1.2 Extreme.
Due to the number of potholes around recently I would like to check the front wheel alignment (I have a gauge) but I cannot find the values anywhere.

Can anybody help please?

HI FOLKS I HAVE A 2001 Y REG CLIO 1.4 ETOILE WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE THE BULBS ON THE CENTRE DISPLAY THAT THE RADIO AND CLOCK SHOWS,HOW DO I TAKE THE TOP BIT OFF THE DASHBOARD TO ALLOW ME TO CHANGE THE BULBS?

No intermittant wipers

The fathers Laguna I (2000) has a wiper issue. The intermittant setting has packed in. Higher speed settings work. Trying to ring him there to check if the washer jets are still working but typically he's not answering. So as it stands all I know is the intermittant isnt working. It's like that a while now and its due to be tested so I have to get...

Could just be a fuse! On those older cars you can hear the circuit click on and off as the wipers start and stop. Have a look for a fuse with the symbol of the wipers and a number 1 below it.

My indicators only flash on one side when i lock or unlock the car but the central locking works fine and so do the indicators normaly any ideas??

Hey guys,

Wondering if I can put Clio Wheels on my Renault 11 GTL. The reason for this is for the extra road holding, plus I really would like to update the exterior a little bit.

Clio wheels will fit fine, almost any of the 4x100 Renault wheels under 17 will fit without too much hassle.

Ah Richard,

This certain Clio doesnt suffer sticky hand brake, even though its auto..

Though, sarahs 2005 manual one does stick on after a week standing...

central locking,fuel cap??

hi,
we have a renault scenic 1.6 fidji 03 plate.......when the r/c/l/ is operated it is making a squealing sound,this is coming from the lock on the fuel cap. I locked and unlicked it with the cap open and it spins the bolt out into place, when unlocking,it spins back in but is very juddery and sometimes didn't fully come out,meaning the cap...
