Hi all, I sure hope someone can shed a ray of light here.
I took my C4GP for its mot today, it failed on on a couple of little things no water for washer jets on windscreen, a low brake pad and the emissions are high.
Any way I went to drive it home again and as soon as I pulled out onto the road the dashboard started lighting up like flipping...

My parking assistance ECU is totally dead, so I purchased a new (old) one.

According to what I heard somewhere I need to reprogram the replacement ECU to talk with my car.

So when I got this car (previously Jim's one) the aux belt was pretty old and had got to that stage where they just squeak at idle in an utterly unstoppable and maddening way. Belt had just got old and glazed, and a new one restored blissful silence in a surprisingly painless procedure once I figured out where the tensioner lived on the TCT.

I have now had the message Engine management system faulty (together with speed limitation and cruise control) at high revs several times. It hasn't stalled or gone into limp mode, but stays for 3 or 4 start ups.
Diagbox says it is P1623 Engine torque given *1. I did mention it once befor on my VTS blog, but no reply to it.

Folks after getting to the bottom of my anti pollution fiasco. I had an exhaust gas temperature sensor replaced on my car.

Today on the motorway my car misfired twice and anti pollution came back on. I reset the ecu and drove home and car didn't miss a beat and was still like a rocket.

Due to some great help on this forum, I was able to source some great rear spheres for my 1997 Citroen Xantia Estate 1.9 Turbo Diesel. (Desire).

After all that however, my mechanic says he can't get the rear spheres off as they seem to be wedged.

My C4 1.4 (manual, petrol, 2005) hasn't been running for a few weeks and I was looking for some advice as to what could be causing the problem.

While driving a few months ago, the car completely lost power and I had to park it on the side of the road. I was eventually able to get it going again with a bump start and managed to get it home....

This is a difficult one as it all hangs on driving style, but what would be the real world mpg for an 03 plate 1.8 litre dohc ( EW7J4 6FZ ) 1749cc petrol picasso being driven with economy in mind please. Its done about 92 k miles and seems to use no oil and in reasonably good condition/state of tune etc..

I have a 2010 Citroen C5 X7 3.0 HDi that quite regularly won't crank.
It usually displays the following faults:
Gearbox Faulty
ABS Faulty
Parking Brake Faulty

When I connect it to my Chinese Diagbox, it usually has a communication error with the Engine ECU, but sometimes it can't communicate with other ECU's too.

Even in manual I can’t change gear.

I assume running it of fuel caused these.

Have been trying to collect some info on GP pre-heat and post-heat control, for our diesel engines.

On all engines, the GPs are switched by the heavy-duty GP relay (capable of handing up to 70A or so):
- some of these relays provide a fixed period of pre-heat (eg 7 secs) only
- others provide a post-heat too, which continues to power up the GPs...

I have a c5 diesel.
Took it out last week 100 miles. Parked overnight and came back to it.
Had fault light and stop.
Power steering faulty.

Thing is the power steering isn't faulty.
It works fine. Suspension works fine.
Breakdown came out. No problems found.
No codes
Told it was ok to drive and has been fine....

I have seen an aftermarket front parking sensor kit that I like the look of. Its a 4 sensor kit that it actuated by a press on the brake pedal and stays on for a short while after the brake press. Ideal for parking my auto C5.
I will need to find a 12v for brake lights and reverse lights ideally near the fusebox by the glove box.
