Ultracapacitor or main relay ?

Post by citron »

I have a November 2015 C4GP 165HP full auto now displaying "Electrical Fault get vehicle repaired" and the red "Service" light.

Two key fault codes are

P1B71 Intermittent Network voltage maintaining device triggering line fault-Short circuit to earth or open circuit.

&

B1624-73 Intermittent Supplies protection and management unit Central power switch positive relay status fault-Relay closed.

If there is only one fault which is it likely to be ?

I would happily change the relay if I knew where it was. The car has additional box in front of the battery and a further electronic package in front of that near the radiator.

Because of the cost of the Capacitor, I would think it would smart for a dealer to fit it to give me some warranty cover.

Any advice welcome, Thank you Citron [ My handle would have been citfan but I didn't notice the website spell check corrected me ! :) ].

I'd be very careful with checking these if you're not experienced - as the capacitors obviously maintain a charge and need to be discharged before working on anything to do with the voltage maintaining device.

P1B71: Network voltage maintaining device triggering line fault: Short circuit to earth or open circuit.

Suspect areas are:
  • Network voltage maintaining device
  • Electrical harness
  • Ignition positive supply
Can't help with the other one - but they are independent faults and are not listed together, so hard to say.
