If it is not the original key then it will need programming with the use of the original keycard. Best done at the dealer!! :)

Does it only work with the original remote control, and why don't other remotes work? Many vehicles like the 407, 307, C5 MK3, etc., can be used even without the original remote control.

This should help:

Are you sure about those figures, what do you make them in mpg? :)

I will do that , thanks a lot 😊

Unfortunately we have lost our access to the VIN database but hopefully one of the members with their own access may help you out. :)

Find a DPF doctor locally and just ask them to refill the fluid and reset the light.

As long there's no leak, you can still use this one, the hose is nothing else to prevent dust and water, so put it back with some kit.
Greetings.

Needs a scan to see which bit is at fault.

Just put a new NOX sensor on our 2017 - luckily it came out easily, unlike Paul's!

I was thinking of replacing all the engine mounts after I'd done the less invasive work.

If I were to replace the engine mounts, I'd also like to replace the steering rack, as it also has the same symptoms as shown in this video:

(By the way, what could be wrong with it? A return valve?)

Currently, I'm leaning towards a damaged driveshaft...

just hit the same issue..

I think I've stupidly completely unwound the osf cylinder, now it won't wind back in! 😂

brute force then?

Brilliant thank you, I have done it before just could not remember how to unlatch it.

Sorry, but probably not as looking at the owners manual it's not even an option

Citroën C5 X7 rear door lock mechanism / door switch.

One of my rear door switches do not recognize the door being opened.
Central lock mechanism works properly.

Example:
Unlock the car, only open this particular door neither interior light turns on nor the central lock mechanism register door is open, so after approximate 30 seconds the doors...

Great to see you post again, you've got so much knowledge that's invaluable.

This part should be with you now Steve, I've had confirmation of delivery from Royal Mail.

No too sure about the timing correlation as I never checked, for now I've taken the engine/box back out again to fit a new clutch, the rear main seal was also leaking a bit when I tried it but until it ran I didn't want to put anything new in it at all. The clutch is dead easy if the unit is out of the van, I've done a few clutches over the years...

When filling the coolant did you use a tool to raise the level above the expansion tank to help get the air out ? if not have a read of this as it is easy to make one at minimum cost

Could you share the BSI diagram with me? A BSI central locking diagram would also be fine.

Up date, finally got around to having a look, stripped off crank pulley, timing covers etc and yes, a quarter of the belt has no teeth. Checked the fuel pump not seized and neither is the water pump, not sure if the tensioner went as the marks did not line up when I checked after the belt was off (should have checked before) and couldn't get the...

Nice one a 150 bhp diesel must pull like a train in a car that weight

Well update with s**t as its become known

ABS faults must have been poorly seated sensor, took it off cleaned it applied antiseize to the little M6 bolt, reset fault codes and bingo all working again, brakes feel much better not as grabby at low speed and no vibration at...

Hi. At this point I am not sure that’s the problem, becouse If I choose another car (i.e C5) on diagbox, all the number are right. Acceleration, yaw angle, etc. also the car has hill assistance and it works, wich for me means that the sensors works fine..I still have the same issue with the release of the clutch. I just bought a CAN analizer so I...

Update. All now seems to be working OK. Must of been the heat. Thanks for the input everyone

I think you should be able to work out your options from here: :)

If there are same number of teeth and same ratio then the movement should't be shorter on activa. Except if the ram has shorter travel?

Cheers Rob how much maybe PM me with details your a star

Tony

Help me my alarm its not working, everything not working. My handle before its working with sensor. But now everything not working. Im using the key manually.

Then you may well have wear in the linkage. Have it checked by a professional and go from there! :)

Thanks for your reply. Finger’s crossed

My car has some serious issues.
I bought another car for parts because i didnt want to spend more money on buying and trying whats wrong.
Car2 is 10months older than mine, and it's a estate, my xsara is standard 5dr.
I've bought it so i can switch EVERYTHING what's wrong with my car. BUT....
My first problem was engine bay installation, so i...

Have you plugged in a code reader to see what fault codes were stored when the engine management light came on ? If so what are they.

Yes, no problems since.

Thanks to everyone for your help!

There seems to be a few variations for the outer joints. Does anyone know the correct part number for my car? The VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]************** .

Regards,

Ian

I cannot check your via your vin number but it (as an early car) should be a 138hp engine....if so, drive shaft are not many.....just pick your...

Hi Turfite,
A couple of things.
The parts in the die cast case come apart easily, just take a photo before dismantling or keep one motor intact as a pattern to reassemble when cleaned and greased.

Your reference to a plastic cover has me stumped.
The shaft that the magnet sits on and has a worm drive at the end comes out of a circular metal case...

UPDATE:

Problem was solved. Although, first replacement BSI which Ive bought didnt work(it was from Peugeot 307 even though serial number was the same like my old BSI, thus hydraulics and remote locking didnt work correctly) , second BSI which was from different series but same model H05-01 worked without issues.

Did you have to pair it with...

I bought the part from BreakerYard.com. I ordered it around 4pm Tuesday, arrived at 3pm today and comes with a 3 month warranty.

That's got to be a good outfit to keep a note of Colin. Delighted you had such great service from them and that all is now good :-D

A hint (if you do not know) ...

Absolutely and I've found it invaluable on occasion. Saves a lot of guesswork...

I will lock this thread here to avoid duplication, for further discussion of this problem goto: :)

We had this on a 2003 C3 and replacing the wiper motor with another used one fixed it. You could also check its wiring and earth are in good condition, especially where it goes between the tailgate and body.

Hi

Just a quick one!

Im replacing the cat on my citroen and the temperature sensors as I dont fancy trying to get the old ones out.

Should I fit them dry or use some copper grease smeared on the threads

Regards

Pete

thanks ozvtr i will look into that as i suspect this radio may be dead used my autel to scan the radio and cd player and it couldn't detect any faults.

Been to them, said I believe there is an electrical issue, but they never got to check the electrics. They done leak test, said that the condenser is leaking (£199) & quoted £1300. You can buy a new condenser for £60, I went upmarket and paid £150.
I will go back, if I must, but just talking to reception is 199

Well guess who bought the wrong wing mirror :rofl2: :rofl2:
Yes i bought one for a MK1 not the MK2 but hey it was only £25 so in the scheme of things all is good as i felt it was worth a punt. :-D
If anyone wants a MK1 C4 passenger wing mirror in Red i have one
Now i didnt actually take the door card out as i did a bit of digging...

Undoing the crank bolt is easy with an impact wrench, and arguably less risky than the traditional Big Bar.

I think I mentioned on the other thread that the cam lobes are prone to turning on the camshaft in the event of a belt failure. Depending on what you find, a set like this might be the cheap way out,

Ecu came plugged in no lights on and limp mode gone. Thxs everyone

I would remove the steel pipes for the front hydractive block.

why? easy to brake those?

Thanks so much everyone! You were right, it was the orange Y piece. Looks like it has gone hard and broken ....

Thanks a million :-)

I needed to get my injector changed, I changed one and it was fine.

Your battery voltage reading is a bit off the norm. With everything switched off you should see 12.7V across a good battery. With the engine running you should see over 14V, unless maybe you have a smart alternator in which case I don't know!! :-D A continual clicking of a relay usually means insufficient current to hold it operated so look for...

Thank you for the reply both.

Regarding your suggestions, I’m unsure if it’s a variable geometry system as it’s a twin turbo setup on the 173 2.2’s, I feel variable vanes would add more to the complexity but it could well be for all I know. I also suspect this setup will make checking actuator arms difficult, but I’m willing to have a go!

I...

Well according to tyre fitter he says tracking looks fine
as i asked about it on the new fitting

Was told this is a front wheel car/van

Possibley low end tyres

To be honest spends more time in garage then ever always needs parts

Top mounts every 2 years lol
