Ds5 Sport hdi 2013. Smoking under load

Hi all.

My ds5 seems to be smoking a lot more when putting my foot down.

Wondering if there could be a specific cause or is it just age?

It's done 144k, is serviced every year, had the dpf fluid changed fairly recently, has a variety of runs, distance and short trips

Any ideas?

Well, no diesel fitted with a DPF should smoke at all so maybe that needs cleaning or replacing. The car could probably benefit from a diagnostic session with a high end reader (preferably Diagbox) to see if there are any error codes (DTCs). Whilst connected the reader could also see what the estimated life remaining of the DPF is.

When you say the DPF fluid was changed I presume you mean topped up. Any fluid still in the reservoir should be left there.

Was the system reset so that it "knew" that the fluid was at maximum?

Thanks for the prompt answer. Yep I'm assuming it was topped up. The regular garage is used seemed to know all about it

I'll have to get it on the diagbox set up somewhere then and see what it says
