C5 height adjustment

Unread post by Zure »

Greeting. I am the owner of a Citroen C5 station wagon, and I was wondering if anyone knows the correct procedure for adjusting the height of the car? It is a model with a 2.2 hdi 204hp engine and automatic transmission, 4 cylinders, but it has one front height sensor and two rear height sensors (blue sensor on the left and green sensor on the right). It also has an additional Body Height ECU (BASHE5) that communicates with the BHI. BASHE5 reads the values of the rear sensors and sends them to BHI, but I don't know what dynamic values should be entered for the left and right sensors in the BASHE5 menu. And how accurate should be the reference values in steps for the front and how much for the rear. I know the height adjustment procedure is not the same for 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines, but is there any difference in my case because I have two sensors back, and no physical adjustment like most 4 cylinder engines. I'll post a picture of the values it reads for me. My VIN number is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Only the V6 engines have 4 height correctors (one on each wheel). All other 4 Cylinder Hydractive X7s 1.6 - 2.2 (DW12BTED4 only) have only 2 height correctors, one on each on the front and rear axles. The exception is the 2.2 DW12C engine that has 2 rear height correctors, but there are no details on how this model's height corrections are entered. It may become apparent if using Diagbox software possibly.

I can't help you with that diagnostic tool as I and most people here use Diagbox for PSA vehicles.

There is a specific height measurement procedure that has to be used which can be found here in the resources section, but you will need to upgrade your membership to access that section.

I know what the height adjustment procedure looks like for 4 cylinders and 2 sensors, but what you claim is impossible, because I have one sensor in the front and two sensors in the back (due to the double exhaust and the impossibility of putting a bracket like on one sensor), and this is not the case only on my car but on every one with that engine, I currently have another one like that and it also has two sensors in the back. I will post a picture of both sensors and the floor of the car. They are directly attached to the bar that serves to adjust the optics of the rear part. Regarding the diagnostics, these are the data from mine that I have, but the same data is also on the Diagbox, and on the diagnostics at the authorized Citroen service. Even in the authorized service center, they don't know how to adjust the height and program those two sensors because they have never had such a C5. I just donated funds to the forum. Greeting.

I stand corrected on this - the 2.2 DW12C engine is the exception, the other 2.2 (DW12BTED4) has the same 2 height sensors only as the 4 Cylinders. Why PSA bothered making this change I'll never know. Secondly there's no data for this anomaly, so height correction procedures are only specified for 6 Cylinder and 4 Cylinder engines, so I can't help you with this one :(

Maybe if you were using Diagbox it may provide the correct procedure to enter the values once you've undertaken the calculations, as there may be a way to enter the values for both the rears.

You could try the calculations for the 6 Cylinder engine and just focus on the rears??

I don't know why they did this and put two sensors instead of one, they just complicated things, so much so that I can't find any information about the height adjustment and the exact values for those sensors anywhere. No service center, as well as the master, has no experience with such a C5 and does not know how to adjust the height. Maybe I will try to adjust the height like on the V6 engines only for the rear end.

That's what I suggested - just focus on the rear as it surely can't be that different....

The guide for the 6 Cylinder is here:
