Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Oh well, result - probably bypassed it as you had an authentic account. Sometimes the answers will have to be exactly formatted as they were entered by the Administrators. - case sensitive for example - but, if the admins have spelt the answers incorrectly or mixed the case of the answers, then it won't work unless they are input exactly.

Okay a little vague in the title but my lad is looking at replacing his BMW ( sorry for the bad language ) for a C5.
He has picked one out that is close to us that seems to be okay but just wondered if people would be willing to look through the MOT and give me a heads up if they think there could be an issue that has yet to be addressed, my gut...

Well, after 35 years or so of DIY car maintenance, I achieved this milestone today.

Looking back....it was always going to happen....

Sprayed it with a bit of plusgas......didn't wait any length of time, no preheating/freezing or whatever, just put on the snugly fitting 13mm socket, and give it a gentle try with the normal ratchet.

See that some 1:12 and 1:18 models have appeared on the Ottomobile website, eg:
- Renault Clio 16v Mk1 1:12

So, the LEXIA arrived to much hand rubbing and fast breathing.

I read through the instructions and then recalled a convo I had with someone from ED.

They said 32 bit would work best as that is what the car ECU runs.

Excellent! I have the reboot disc for Win7 with the choice of 32 or 64.

So I dug out an old Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 with 32...

Fairly predictable that diesel sales were going to plummet, and their Land Rover wing didnt even offer a token hybrid powerplant.

First site seemed promising but, of course, won't let you just make a purchase, you have to log on/create an account (which is nothing of the sort) - except I couldn't because if I tried to register it said there was already an a/c with that e-mail...

The DVSA 'connected equipment' looks more big brother (and costly) than most motor trade stuff.

The Smart car advisory probably fits well with some of the customers the trade has to deal with. :-D

Hi all,

Am currently on holiday in the Skoda in France - currently overnight stopping in Beaune on the way down to Régusse in the morning.

It's become apparent after 500+ miles today at speed that the front tyres, though legal and at the correct pressures are, let's say, well past their best.

After reading that you could be fined £200 plus six points for using your phone to pay for goods at a drive through and also using your mobile in general whilst your engine is running, what happens if you drive an EV, never an engine running so can I use my mobile any time I’m stopped in traffic as your engine needs to be running for you to be in...

My mates 50th on Saturday and his favourite film is 'Back to the Future' so.....
With the BX 3 weeks from death due to rust mites we thought we may do this to surprise him.

The cars never had so much attention, kids and parents alike taking pictures. A good sending off I think.

Got my new laptop and trying to transfer the WOW Snooper program from the old one, got a spare hdd and popped it into one of those external cassettes, connected it to the old laptop switched it on and my robot vacuum cleaner started up. :o

I'm afraid he's wrong. I've over 30 years in IT and I'm telling you you can't do that via file transfer. The only way is if it's been installed on Virtual Machine and the VM is cloned and setup on another host PC and the cloned VM is exported to the new PC / laptop (if the host operating system supports it).

As per the new item the other day all electric vehicles from 2021 have to emit the sound of a normal combustion engine, so when you buy new new Peugeot e-208, can you chose the engine sound, if so what about.........

Some people believe it was in fact Vladimir Ilyushiin, 5 days before Gagarin's flight is purported to have taken place.

The theory is that the flight had technical issues, and had to be brought down early, and he crash landed in China where he was held for a year as a political prisoner.

The Russians, of course, deny this, and state he was in...

Hi all,

I see the environmentalists have moved on from engine emissions to tyre and brake dust now. Maybe we should ban car ownership altogether. :shock:

Once they have banned ICE vehicles worldwide they will move onto something like building works. I mean, how much dust and pollution does that generate (sawdust from cutting wood, stone/brick/cement dust from cutting/drilling these items, and so on)?

Concrete is a huge environmental problem.
