Rare Coloured Xantia

I like that colour. First time I've ever seen it on a Xantia. Description says it's rare.....

......I want that colour

In searching for special tools for Lucas Diesel Pumps I found this:

Lucas Humour

If I were to say, buy a really cheap car - 1 litre, say a citroen saxo and pop in a turbo/something to make it go faster, would it be practical?

I ask because I'm all for a small car, but if I need the extra revs for taking over, I'd like to be able to have them.

I suppose I want the perfect mix of a small economical engine and having the...

hi all, I have a feeling there may be a citroen DS? featured in a program on discovery channel that night.. could be a short 'restoration' story..

I might be able to add more later

getting quite into car stuff on discovery now  its either a bit US muscle car stuff, or 'garage' which is some brit mechanics in Marbella , but its sort of ok,...

Having seen a Smart car previously that had the rear badge adapted,
so that it read Smart Arse!

I am pleased to see that a French car owner has had some fun with their badge also, on the back of a Megane, it had been changed to Vegane.

I've been reading the Have your Say on the BBC news website. The subject of how to stop Somali pirates hijacking oil tankers is being aired..

This post caught my eye...

Fill the ships with French built Cars, the pirates will soon move onto another target.

Presumably on the basis that if you gave each pirate a...

I have recently bought a transfer box off ebay and was expecting postage to be a little more as i am over here the original quote for mainland was £20 so imagine my shock when an invoice came through for £50  so is there a kind member of the forum who lives near Alderholt in hants that would pick it up for me and post at sensible cost?

Trawling thru a few Citroen sites i came across this subtle Xantia, there must be ++++++++hrs of work here and nicely done, not to sure about the alloys ? a nice set of Activa rims would look ok though..

whats the general thoughts on this ?????????????

Paul

Getting bored of the SAAB (mainly because its uncomfortable!) and I have spotted a XM in a local(ish) garage......

Question is would I like a XM? Answers please :D

Im really rather confused about this find on eBay - just take a look at the pictures on there and see if you can guess what im on about

Item number - 140281382561

Take a look at this link.

Someone has gone to a lot of work, to create in effect an Xantia !

The story is this:

The car I am going to collect at the weekend has no road tax.

The car was px'ed by the previous but one owner at a local garage, and then I think the car was sold to the current owner, who is selling it to me.

The current owner did not fillout the V5 and send the relevant parts to the DVLA.

Indeed, there is a portion of the...

Some of you may remember it......Take a look...

or just click the links at the bottom of each page for the next episode.

As some of you may have picked up, I'm an airsofter (best way to describe airsoft is like paintball but a lot more fun, a lot less messy, and a heck of a lot less painful!) and one of my pet projects with it is a camera to record the skirmishes as they take place.
My first attempt (GunCam Mk1) sort of worked, with the help of Jim building a 5v...

Chaps, do any of you know if the TD head is the same as a D head..?

I know camshaft, injectors are different, but what about the main block itself? I can't see it being different...

thanks
:)

John

I didn't borrow one either - I used my own...

The Xantia 65 litre tank can take 66.28 litres of fuel, no worries. That also saw me drive into the service station, no misfiring or rough running prior.

It was my usual pump and vendor; the Weights and Measures people check them often enough so I don't feel there's dishonesty....

Walking through a department store the other day there was a section that caught my eye, this was the gifts section, and in amongst all of the other things they had this,

which also comes with a small BOL, so for those buying it without the mechanical knowledge we have, you could imagine some head scratching trying to get this together, due to...

I just spotted a new user has registered on the forum...

Sorry that this is completely OT.

My company has recently introduced a new sales model, and are threatening to sack people if they don't use it.

Several of my colleages and myself have issues with this model, including being expected to use improper english and hetting very close to pressure sales (an illegal practice iirc)

Can the company...

I have a problem. Since installing FrontPage 2003 on my PC, it has upset Windows Picture Manager and the (albiet poor) JPEG compression/resize functions no longer work. It seems the PM in Office 2007 or whatever it is I'm using clashes with FP

I need FP2003 for my website editing.

Is there a good, simple freeware JPG tool that I can use...

I found my half-inch socket adaptor today - stuck behind the timing belt tensioner pulley.

I lost it while changing my timing belt - I've since done about 2,000 miles.

After three weeks of a strange whining sound, I took the timing belt covers off, thinking the belt may be too tight. God only knows how the adaptor kept away from the...

ok weve all had the enviromental budget busting leasons on fuel saving, but whos got the lowest MPG? mines currently 26 thanks to olympic building site sending half of london past my front door. (lead boots probably dont help)

I am getting increasingly fed up with having to pay between 10 and 15 pence a litre more for diesel than petrol. Talk about rip off

It got me thinking then, would it now be cheaper to run a small petrol car.

I think my calculations were correct and the other day I worked out if my HDi gives 50mpg and I bought a small petrol that could do at...

A main stealer that had a fire was caught on film, and shown on national TV this week.

If you look on the BBC iPlayer, it is on the Real Rescues series.

Here's the link...

could be a problem with the net but I had to change it to log in just thought I would inform you if you have this problem

Citroen
Front Fitting Watling Towbar Citroen Xantia HB 93>>01
Xantia H/B front towing bracket

Looking around early on a web site I came across this obviously the spelling is wrong, but has anyone seen one of these on a Citroen or any other make, as they are also made for many different other cars.

Does anyone know any companies that do car trailer hire? There is something among this forum that has caught my eye yet I have no way of getting it home.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Not everyone's cup of tea but I think some of these look fantastic.

pers0nal choice of course

Following from the thread that discussed the 'merits' of the new C3
I thought this would interest folk!

Sad Citroen never got what they wanted mind; an opportunity for the
marque missed there! Activa with a V6 and a coupe body...

Andrew

I've got to remove some non-car related anti-tamper screws, they take a 3 tipped screwdriver (think mercedez badge).
Any idea what they're called?

Seen a few scetches for this in Autocar, anyone else have any info?

This morning while driving along I saw this in the distance.

So, with traffic slowing down, and the traffic lights on red I stopped behind this.

The vehicle was the same colour as the one in the picture, and had Romanian plates on it.

What attracted my attention the most while sitting behind it at the lights, was the Renault badge under the...

Well its not really french car related but it could be...

Reading the news or HBOS being bought out by LloydsTsb is it possible to buy shares in HBOS and then wait a while for LLoydsTSB shares to settle and be converted from HBOS to LLoydsTSB shares, then sell them to make a profit?

Ie i buy HBOS shares today at about 131.0
Lloyds have said they...

As support for the version of phpBB we're currently using soon runs out and further updates, critically security updates, will be no more, I did my first trial conversion to upgrade to phpBB version 3.

This I did on a test platform completely independant to the main forums and is invisible to all but me. The conversion is a long task. It took 3...

Hi all :)

Can you look at

I have redrawn and simplified the wiring for the series / parallel wiring on our fans.. I want to fit a twin fan set up to my camper...

I am ok with it except the wire coming out of switch position '2' needs to energise all three relays, but in position one, it needs to energise just the first relay.. as I have...

This thread has been doing the rounds on bike and car forums around the world. It's not Citroen related but it is about a ZX  It appears to be a 2008 model too

Well having seen the feature on Fifth Gear about a typical maintenance issue, I nearly fell off my seat laughing at why a manufacturer would design something to be more difficult !

So, is this typical of the new modern Euro encap design ?

The Golf they used in the test against the Megane seems to prove to contary.

So if you have the Xenon bulbs...

If the forum goes off the air soon, the reason may be connected with this email I received, addressed to the forum

Due to the recent BIG DROP in share values the city has decided to invest in various cars including French cars, as they have despite a reputation for depriciation been determined to hold their value for longer than a lot of shares.

just some thoughts really..

I think that if your like me, 9 times out of 10, something goes wrong with your car, you did not expect it, and you need the car back on the road first thing in the morning to get kids to school, put the wife in a shop etc.. ( I am glad I dont have kids or wives  )

in these situations, it's hard to justify...

The BX Club are going to undertake a charity run around France next year in a fleet of BXs.

Full details are here.

I'm forming part of Team Database

Should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to it and a good spur to get French language skills up to scratch...

I'll also experience the joys of a BX as well :D

this cheered me up.. the last one definately looks like it should house criminals who are literally 'flying'

apologies if anyone owns one of these, I somehow doubt it though

As the aroma of barbeque charcoal wafts across the estate............... I am still inwardly fuming over the latest retail crime. The quest for reasonably priced veg oil reached a peak with the discovery of Soyola (!) in Tesco- weighing in at a mere 80p/litre- excellent, I loaded up with as much as there was on the shelf. An additional...

As I'm planning on doing a lot more to my car than I used to I'm considering if a torque wrench would be a useful investment.

Does anyone have any advice on what to look for?

Obviously I want one with the largest range possible whilst retaining accuracy.

Any thought's on what drive I should be looking at 1/2? 3/8?

I'm thinking maybe £50 or...

On one of the other forums I frequent, the subject of what to do should the undead rise up and run amock often crops up, and within the discussion, which vehicle to go for is hotly discussed.
Now many people talk about hummers and big 4x4s or even sports cars, but thinking logically, I always put forward the Xantia 1.9TD

My reasoning is that...

To my knowledge PSA mounts all it's engines at an angle of 20 degrees backwards.

I may be wrong in that they do it to all their cars and also I may be wrong that it's 20 degrees...

....however

I've had a 406 with the 2.0 XU and now a Xantia with the HDi. Both have had engines mounted at an angle.

My question is this...Why are they at an...
