The London Tonight news just showed a report, featuring the road changes to the roads in the above area, they have now been changed from one way to two way, I.E. back to what they were many years ago!

The thing that made it more interesting was that it showed Boris Johnson driving around in a car to open it up,...

I had a bit of a shock today when I read this story

I had to put £15 worth of derv in the Xantia at my local Tesco store last week.
I expected to get approx 150 miles from this amount..
What did i get.. 115 miles.

This confirms to me that Tesco fuel is rubbish.
I detest Tesco anyway but thats my own fault for not travelling the extra 5 miles to my usual Total garage where i 99% of the time fill...

At Lidls now, screen wash with antifreeze 5lit for £5.99.
I used this neat last year all through the winter and even at -20C it didn't freeze in the jets!!!
In fact I last filled it neat in March and in summer all I've done is top it up with water and its still soapy!!!

How do they fare?

I'm experimenting with clearing the oily coolant crap from my 605 by stewing a replacement header tank (from another car with the same problem) in strong caustic. The oil has formed like a marine grade grease.

What happens if I put hoses in a caustic bath for a day or two? Some will be very difficult to clean fully by manual...

I'm trying to help my father who is quite hard of hearing.

He has a little piezo beeper timer that he uses for cooking - carries it in his hand or pocket while it's counting - however the range/volume are slowly slipping out of audible for him. That's even with a hearing aid factored in.

What MPG do you get out of them urban and extra urban?

This week I have been to the ecovelocity show in Battersea to drive some electric cars around their 0.8km test track, I liked this Mia from France, shame it was a very poor drive compared with the Citroen C zero, Renault Kangoo and Nissan Leaf and it still cost £22k.
