I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

The one observation both me and my other half have made is that especially on motorways that my Xantia (XUD9TE engine) could easily handle another gear. Would no doubt improve economy and cut down on the engine drone which seems to annoyingly peak at exactly 70mph.

Would need a diesel based transmission but it would work quite well I suspect. Swapping stuff over from the BE3 I think is just the release mechanism as HDi's (RHD ones at least) tend to be hydraulic rather than cable operated.

The steering lock angles on a 306 GTi6 are terrible in my opinion :( , the length of the box means they had to reduce...

a friend of mine has one of the above and is looking for some new tyres, he feels the last lot were way to pricey,

they are 255x45x19

anyone any suggestions on were to purchase some at a reasonable price and brand?????,

he says the first set only lasted around 12K miles, and i dont think he drives it in anger :shock: #-o

Hi guys

For Project Stictiva I have purchased a pair of full car tilt ramps, about 5 meters long and raise the car about 1.5m. Drive up and they tilt to flat.

I am due to go to France in the next 14 days to pick up an Activa with a car/trailer sailing via Newhaven ....can anyone save me a 8 hour drive so I can pick them up on my return and load...

I’ve just had a black Citroen Cactus as a courtesy car for the weekend, while our C6 has its cam belt replaced. For those who may be interested in it, I collected some thoughts.

I expected to hate it. The last courtesy cars I had from Citroen didn’t impress me. The DS3 was horribly hard riding, as if set up for a racetrack, yet its gutless engine...

Last night on Channel 5 the newest episode of the Classic Car Show, which is presented by Quentin Wilson and Jodie Kidd featured a Citroen.

They went down to Monaco, and before the racing started did a lap of the circuit in a Citroen DS Decapotable.

Andy, incredibly interesting about the lack of oil cooler on the XUD7 causing the valve clearance tightening...

An oil temperature gauge might be very revealing..

I know on the ES9, another engine with no oil cooler, just how hot the oil can get when it's give a lot of beans... I always thing that's why the oil temperature gauge was deleted on...

Spent six years with a stupidly high clutch on my 107 having been told by the dealer that it was self adjusting and normal.

Imagine my frustration when I found the adjuster. Two miutes (literally) later had a sensible clutch!

As these had just litterally come out the factory when I left, I only did a couple of runs in the car park with them mainly out of interest and to move them out of the way of other cars etc.

I did notice they vibrated alarmingly at idle though. Worse than (at the time I'll admit) my nasty 1.0 S plate 3cyl Corsa. (yes I know, I did not have it...

the wind caught my drivers door, hinges deformed?

and is now not closing smoothly, ie top edge hanging about 1/2 inch low, is there an easy hinge adjustment?

Right, the quick repair was............a 1 mm thick washer inserted between the lower hinge, and the door........ closing the door, sounds now, like a Golf! ...........almost!!
the hinge itself is dowelled to the door, so no lateral movement........

Hi guys,
curiosity is bugging me a little here, had to do an emergency run to b&q yesterday for plasteroard and flooring, chucked the roof bars in 'just in case', turned out to be a good plan, i didn't try and put the 8x4 in the car as it was Heavy, was on my own, people were watching and i didnt want to have to go and buy another sheet!! the 8x2...

For me:

1). 1981 Austin MiniMetro HLE in Snapdragon yellow. Fantastic little go-kart that could leave a modern Golf GTi for dead on the twisties. (Proven, despite 40 odd bhp and non-servo assisted brakes). Plus that gearbox whine just never got old.

2) 1987 Renault 25 Monaco. Most. Comfy. Car. Ever. Scrapped because of...

For me it's usually a case of it makes sense at the time. Looking back though I'm not always so sure.

One exception being the Cappuccino, which I simply didn't have the resources to deal with, and would have probably cost thousands to sort. That was one that I knew would just sit forever if I didn't sell it. Knew I would regret it though...and...

Please folks beware of the stormy weather that is forecast.

I think my son learnt a lesson today. His best pal must have cheated death by millimeters. He was heading to work about 6 this morning, came round a corner and hit a tree which had been blown over. The guy is in hospital with quite severe facial injuries from the branches that came in...

They say things happen for a reason (though I just blamed bad luck); in not finding the ideal C5 diesel I've been searching for over the last several months. But I now wonder if it was a blessing in disguise?

If that's the case, I'm concerned my intention to invest in a C5r diesel could prove to be a more expensive choice in the not-to-distant-future. I guess most of you don't agree? I've checked the choice of petrol engines and I'm not impressed.

I think (V6 excepted) generally they put more 'flair' into the diesel units as they always have done...
