Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Anyone good with Weber carbs?

by bxbodger » 15 Feb 2005, 17:01

First post

Should it not have twin webers?- mine did, but you are talking in the singular.....Check for a massive air leak at the joint between either of the carbs bodies and the manifold-this is your most likely cause, and they also need to be synchronised with a vacuum gauge, this gets rid of any flat spots.

Last post

Hi,
I have fitted a Weber 38DGAS carb to my 205xs. It makes for fantastic performance, but there is a problem. It has a nasty flatspot, off/on the throttle, which I found was caused by a missing O-ring on oneo f the idle jets. When I replaced the O-ring, the car now won't idle at all, even though the flat spot has now gone.
As far as I can see,...

Not having a go just a little observation from using last 2 months

Last post

Its a wet Sunday morning, and I have nothing better to do than go to Warrington and get some meatballs from Ikea so I have been trawling the web waiting for my family to get themselves up out of bed and this is what I found....
Is this the most pathetic excuse for a Motorway in England... or do you know something far worse?
The A635(M).
Its so...

BX prices.

by DLM » 05 Feb 2005, 20:51

First post

Well, Tom, one of the answers is obviously yes.... (the last one).
Maybe they're just starting to obey the laws of bangernomics - 12 months MOT = £300 to £400. Tax pro rata. Maybe not.
As for the ones without tax, perhaps there are just a lot of trader part-ex cars on offer - the it owes me principle (chop in the tax straight away and try it on...

Last post

Poking around Ebay, there is a TZD estate for nearly £500 and
lots of saloons with no tax or a very short ticket for between £300 and £500. That's a much firmer price than we have been used to!
Have Jon and I burned off so many chavs that the BX is now the thing to have or has this site demystified the BX to the point where people aren't scared...

Why tour a capital city in a limo, everybody does that !
How about doing it in a Citroen 2CV !
If you don't own one, or have a friend who would like to experience a ride in one on holiday, then this might be of interest.

EBAY - RESTORATION RARE 504 CC

by rossd » 02 Feb 2005, 16:23

I SOOOOO want one of those, although I would expect trying to get parts for the Kugelfischer (sp?) injection would be fun to say the least.... But then I would probably drop in a 170bhp V6 from a 505.

306 GTI 6 VS ZX VALVER

Well the ZX should have the 2.0 155BHP (But alegedly 150BHP) lump as used in the late 405Mi16's.
The Pug has at least a 12bhp advantage, but is it not heavier......?
I don't know much about the specs/figures of either car to be honest, but I suspect there would be little to choose.

Does any one know what the difference in peformance is between a 1994 Citroen zx 16v and A 1997 Peugeot 306 GTI 6? My Mate owns the zx 16v (louis1) and i will be getting my 306 GTI 6 in a few days. We will find out the difference (Of Course!) on our own private test track (we would not dream of doing this on the public road haha!)
Any...

Never forget that the wearing of a hat by the driver slows down the car!

Well I'm not driving the fastest motor on the roads, but dont you just hate getting stuck behind a car, which should be by design going like stink! So my nomination today - a tidy J plate BX GTi 4x4.

How to cure a CX.

by tomsheppard » 29 Jan 2005, 03:34

Buy another BX. No bother since. The mysterious cooling system problem turned out not to be (Always overheated after a level check but leave it alone and it loses no water! Odd!) and a new speedo cable was 5€ from a scrapper in France. Some use has improved it but I still don't like it, hence the new TZD project, of which more anon.

Windscreen Wash

by RichardW » 28 Jan 2005, 13:21

First post

Get some of Clearalex crystals or tablets (you can get them in Halfrauds). I have no idea what's in them, but it is unsurpassed for keeping windscreens clean. Takes a while to cut through the gunge initially but it gets there. Add some meths to the washers to stop them freezing (or some other screenwash additive if you don't like the smell!).

Last post

Where oh where can I get some decent screenwash?
Years ago I used to use Flash Liquid and the screen sparkled. Then they changed it and its as crap as everything else now, a nice film of traffic gunge smeared across the screen.
