I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Ok I love the snow and today went out for a few hours driving down countless country lanes. Driving nice and slow not being stupid, car was great xexons really good in the snow, traction control helped out a few times.

I know I should have not used the car but I like drivings in bad snow, being in a nice warm car with all that snow falling....

changed the plugs and leads on the good lady's Fiat today, (bravo 1.2 16v) cars been missing badly lately, - always misses but only slight when under load, pulled the plugs out and they were all a colour ive not seen...

chaps, I need a bit of guidance here..

I have replaced a strut upper bearing on a psa (206).. taking the strut out, I decided to break the outer bottom ball joint, to allow the hub to go low enough to get the strut out..

refitted all and I cannot for the life of me get the hub up enough, and the lower arm low enough, for engagement.. :evil: cost...

Cup holders are usless in Big Citroëns, that is if they exist at all.
I must say that the cup holders are excellent in the C6.

They have almost German cupholders that flip out of the dash. They are neat and effective and I had forgotten about them! No doubt the C5III has a similar thing.

I have gone for somewhere I can ill afford, (although i have paid a deposit, i can still get out of that..) but.. the new place has a garage, which is pretty important.. I've finally come across one that fits the bill. It's low mileage, is taxed and MOT and generally looks in lovely condition and is very very keenly priced, about half the price of similar cars.

Although this sounds obvious (read on) do you think a car will sell better with a new MOT ?

Very true I'm aware you can view previous advisories etc online. :)

Also true about engine bay, the phrase I like to use here is honest dirt , a spotless engine bay is slightly suspicious as it may of been jetted to hide a selection (!) of oil leaks or worse. Having said that I kept the bay clean on the 205 to a good degree.

I've just returned from fetching some Fleabay tiles for the boss-man. Should've done my homework; 166 2'×1' tiles, half inch thick is almost 1000kg! :shock:

No wonder the Xantia was having a red-hot complain! I don't think the AL4 was meant for that type of lugging...

AA inspection/ couriers

Has anyone here had an AA inspection done on a car before buying? I'm goign to travel to Glasgow and want to get the inspection done Tues or Wed this week to remove any potential surprise when I get there.I'll be giveing the garage a ring in the morning(or tuesday if they're clsoed tomorrow) to make sure all is well and let them know I want to...

Just rang the AA and they need 3 working days notice. Tried the garage and got voicemail so I assume they are closed today.

Does anyone know a similar service to the AA inspection or have a recommendation for someone in Glasgow that could check out a Fiat Ulysse for me in the next couple of days for whatever (reasonable) fee?

Came across some new MOT rules for next year whilst browsing the net this morning.

Reading through the list, I get the impression that drumming up business for the motor trade, as well as road safety has played a large part in these new rules.

Scrap Metal

Has anyone ever sold piles of general scrap to merchants - ie not a car but say a pile of old exhausts, axles etc

I have a barrel full of brake calipers, a pile of exhausts and batteries, alternators etc - probably about 80 - 120 kgs worth.

Is it worth taking to scrap merchant and would I get anything for it?

I know scrap is worth more than it...

Couple of years ago I got a few quid for a battery and car radiator from a small scrap merchant, recommended to me by the local council recycling place as they couldn't take the battery and rad. I think it was £7 for both. Both done on weight and an eye appraisal of the metals.

Anyone know of a good product to gently polish the windscreen, and remove that traffic film which seems to be part of the glass?

Used to use jeweller's rouge back in the day, but haven't seen any for ages.

One of the biggest causes of frustration, and annoyance when visiting a supermarket is this the leaving of a trolley where any one feels like it!

:evil:

Note the lack of a coin operated device on it!

They get left in parking bays, including parent and child ones, in the walkways outside, they drift into the roadway etc.

Im so paranoid about getting dinks in my car doors that I have my own space at work, over the keep clear sign with fences both sides. :lol:

Doesn't bother me with the usual tat I drive - but having recently bought a nice Berlingo, I've taken to parking it at the end of the supermarket car parks where no one else is, then it doesn't get dinged....

'Flusser' brand heater matrix

Hello all

Has anyone bought/used a Flusser heater matrix? I've bought one from GSF for my 190D.
It has small square nuts which are used to attach the inlet and outlet pipe - but the part has been badly machined so two of the four nuts don't quite fit in the plastic stubs.
I could bodge it by gently drilling, but I'm now wondering whether to...

I couldn't face getting a replacement - which required a bike ride across Bradford.

I've tested it with the dash off, and so far so good - no leaks.
