I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

i know its not french but i also know theres alot o fgood mechanics on here too ;)

ive gota do a water pump on a rover 25 tommorrow and havent got any locking tools and theres no budjet for one :(
any good suggestions on locking the cams up and crank that can be done with a set of tools?

I've heard this talked about before its a bit of a tight squeeze and I think you need a homemade downpipe as the stock one will not fit as the bulkhead / trans tunnel is in the way.

I'm not sure how well known this is.

A bit of exposure to a fault on C3 and Blingo models with the 1.4 has yielded the common faults thus:

Dash temperature gauge suddenly goes to max, warning light on. Then it stops again and back to normal! Faults come up as temperature sensor short circuit or open circuit and permanent cooling fault in ECU...

This quest started when I swapped rear flex hoses on my 405 disc brake rear, and the brake fluid siphoned itself right out. Took me half a dozen bleeds to get it sorted.

Well, I'm going to be needing something to replace the C5 with at some point in the not-too-distant. Curiously it's water usage hasn't been too bad this week. Haven't taken the cap off to check, but as I've had no top up engine coolant message, I guess it's ok.

Anyway. Whatever I get *must* be petrol due to the ability to get it cheap, legally....

Something says no as it appears quite a long unit (with viscous fan but that's easily dealt with) but I could be wrong.

interesting way to do it, the saxo lump to AX was quite common in the Front of the car!! :-D
was a guy long time back that popped an Mi16 in an AX, that thing would shift, just not very good on the bends due to a gearbox poking half way out of the wheelarch! ;-)
also along a similar line, pugperformance put a gti-6 lump and box in a 106gti, got...

Just make sure the satnav regularly receives updates, otherwise you could still get caught out (and you still could be, by handheld or mobile speed cameras). Cheaper older Garmin's like mine only have the original camera's database, so are now way out of date.

Just replaced my 2 front tyres with a pair of Dunlop Blueresponse. I found them really noisy to the point that I have now swapped them for the slightly worn back tyres with a different tread pattern. At first I could not understand what had happened so went down the pit and checked the underside out to see if I had lost a panel, thats how...

Was checking out the price of tyres recently and it would seem they are all now rated for noise level as well as speed etc. Probably about as accurate as fuel consumption figures but it's somewhere to start.

Im starting todo more miles now. Ive never had a hdi before. Ive been looking at a few on tinternet. The xantia hdis and c5 hdi are nearly the same price. The 406 hdis are cheaper. Ive noticed. The xsrea hdis do more miles pre gallon. Prob the same with the 306 hdis.
I would love a xantia hdi. Good ones are going for strong money. cheap ones are...

I attempted to jump start a 106 diesel from mine about 6 weeks after I got it about a year ago, the passenger side air bag light came on immediately, was on until a few weeks ago when an Italian tune up inexplicably turned it off.
My only experience of jump starting from an hdi but I'm not going to be doing it again.

just a quick favor if i may!! any one with a brown xantia haynes manual(3082) able to scan in the Index page A-O for me?? mine has been torn and only has A, a bit of B, L,M and O!

I guess that in the past, Haynes' mechanics were able to deduce much of the necessary information themselves through experience and inspection, and that a call to the manufacturers would fill in any gaps in many cases.

Really.

A large recycling truck started inexplicably rolling back towards me at an intersection today. After a mad scramble to remember where the horn was (cue rapidly increasing heart rate and pucker factor!) I found it where I'd left it - on the lighting stalk tip.

Result! He stopped rolling back, the chassis rails literally two inches from...

The front left drivers seat nut has broken free and taken a section of floor with it.
The local welder that sorted one of my other cars said the plates they use aren't thick enough (unfortunately the young lad who did a top notch job before isn't there anymore)

So how hard is mig welding?

i always clean old metal away like sill lips back to one lip, as trying to weld to a double or more lip of old metal with rust in between,

Very often use V power, the engine seems to run better. Put in £30 yesterday into a pretty empty tank.
