I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Yes it relates to one of Luton's finest, but sometime Friday/Saturday my driver's side wing mirror glass was stolen.

Bit of trawling of the internet and I find Europartsdealer with a new replacement item at £7.79 with free 1st Class Delivery from Royal Mail.

Ordered it Late Sunday night, and the little brown cardboard box, with the mirror...

OK....after the change over to an MPH one, its not working at all. I have checked the connections etc, put the KMPH one back...that works

Look on the plus side...last time I did something like that it was changing the BIOS battery on a Toshiba T3100SX luggable...

A task which pretty much involved dismantling the machine to its component parts, in a very specific order and involving several million screws.

Hot on the heels of the latest update to the current forum software, I find the branch we are presently running will be going end of life in May.

This means no more patches, no more updates and most importantly, no more security updates..

Does anybody know if/how to reset an Electro Mechanical Miles recorded to Zero ?

I have to change my French KMPH Speedo (at present only the face is changed to fool the MOT man) to a MPH one.
I have sourced the correct V6 type in MPH ( I love you Jim :) ) but I would like to reset that to either zero or to the correct KM/MPH.
I will naturally...

It was recorded on the MoT as KM traveled for the first registration......but that is a good thing to do I think along with making a note to keep with the cars history.

So, who wants to believe my car has done 2,500 miles since new :)....I can see the ebay description, maybe I will get a good price :)

I took my test at a unique time, it was during the Suez crises. Due to the rationing of fuel driving tests were suspended but if you already held a provisional license you were allowed to drive unaccompanied, a situation I took full advantage of - they couldn't really fail you after that could they. 8-)

Before I go and order one, has anyone tried the universal split driveshaft boots that you dismantle nothing, cut old boot off, slip boot on and glue it together. They are not much more than normal ones but should be easier fitted. Anything that saves me work nowadays is a good thing.

Every week I weigh myself and check my blood pressure, having had a history of both being very high...

I've noticed that over the months the trend has been downward and today, measured during moderate activity (housework) I recorded a score of 102/63 at a pulse of 55 bpm :shock:

This seems a bit lowish but I'm feeling great :? No obvious...

hi chaps, my c5 has a bolt on tow ball, 2 large bolts hold it to the main tow hitch.. its a standard factory C5 S1 towbar.

I have one of these, a bike carrier from the US which I would like to use..

My carrier however, has a square hitch bolted on, with a large pin which locks.. for a US square...

was up at pops yesterday, figured i best have a poke and prod round the ol' girl, fired up quickly with a battery booster and ran for a mo but spluttered, to be expected as its been sat not fired for over a year, but stared to look and have a prod and poke about, the usual spots and wtaer traps seem to have got it, the sunroof drains have blocked...

Was attempting to look at IMCDB ( internet movie car database) to check out Duel and up pops a message saying I need to update Adobe Flash Player, in very adobe flash player looking instructions. Suffice to say an inadvertent click involved having CrossBrowser invade my old laptop.

My last premium 49 days ago was £171.12 fully comp 10 years NCB 7,000 miles for me and wife on Xantia S reg 2.1 TD (110) approx 46.9p a day

Today's quote for a change of car was expensive so I asked for a new policy quote same profile but on a Xantia W reg 2.0 HDi (110) approx 99.7p a day

Seems they heavily load the premium on a 'new' car even...

Agree with all you say about phones, I use a Nokia 830, here drive + maps downloaded so no data use with traffic off, have used it in UK, Europe, USA and bits of Canada all 'for free' as it were. But my wife not keen, really wants a satnav that does 'one thing well' always in the car, no worries about data or settings etc.

This has reminded me of an amusing incident back in the 80's. BMW had a state of the art dealer fitted immobilizer system whereby a sensor was concealed somewhere in the vehicle and a magnetic key was passed over the sensor to turn it on or off. This worked remarkably well as there were an unlimited amount of places the sensor could be placed and...

I have 30 years driving experience Bikes, Cars, Lorry, Tanks, Articulated and in all road conditions from the Arctic to the Desert but I have yet to master Supermarket car parks apparently ... :oops:

After dropping off SWMBO I was driving too slowly, so the woman in her X5 decided to commence reversing out of a Supermarket parking bay...

the French have lost their love of Citroen's Liquid Springs for sure as well as being like most others these days, they like NEW cars that are simple and don't fall apart in the first 5 years of their life.

whats the best way to store/keep all your photos once free drop box comes to a close,

i have heard people having problems accessing there files once there free drop box comes to an end,
they sent me an email stating my free account was ending in June,
and invited me to pay for there service,

i do like drop box but dont want to pay £7 odd a month...

I'm wondering if it's realistic to have both my Xantiae on the road. Estate as a work maul and hatchback as the nice clean one. I've never had more than one car insured and was just wondering how those of you who do have gone about it. There seems to be unlimited options and they all seem to cost a lot more than double the price for one car which...

There appears to be little logic in premiums, the cheapest car to insure in my collection (apart from the DS - classic policy) is my Merc which cost £120k new and has a top speed limited @ 186 mph, work that out!

My four everyday cars are insured with Admiral Multicar though as mentioned with every renewal I invariably have to question the quoted...

While not complete idiots on the computer, sometimes it takes us longer than is worthwhile to do some tasks which others can do in a jiffy.

We have started a small Peugeot/Citroen Renault business here in Bretage and need a logo.

We would like a Renault Diamond, a Peugeot Lion inside it, and Citroen Chevrons inside the lion....

OK, finally getting naffed off with the standard car radio, loosing stations, hiss, stuff plugged into glove box (crap) Citroen adapter etc etc.

My needs are FEW, Bluetooth for the phone, USB and Aux in would be good. I am not bothered about the cars screen loosing radio info etc,. I hardly change stations anyway sticking to 3/4 standard ones....

That's good, I just bought TWO head units !, one for the X7 and one for the Xantia, £80 odd for the pair.

Now to find a patch lead for the Xantia and get a check on the X7 and the above patch lead.

How is this for the C5x7, I have according to the lexia, 2x active antenna so I need this type ?

So earlier tonight I ended up watching the John Bishop show.

On it at one point there was a band called The Courteeners.

Therefore at some point we could in the future have someone calling a band :wink: The Xauntears :wink:
