Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

1996 laguna turns over but won't fire

by naiku » 08 Nov 2004, 18:28

First post

Sound's like it is the immobiliser (I had a problem with mine and it did exactly the same thing) it ended up being a loose connection on the immobiliser. The RAC fixed mine :)
Do you have the little red LED in the middle of the door locking button on the centre console? if your immobiliser is working fine it should flash steadily without the keys...

Hi all, new member here....
I think I have an immobiliser issue, or do i?
The car is a 1996 2.0 laguna
I thought it was the fuel pump, so did the AA, so i changed it.
I have put a 'new' fuel pump in and it is now priming when I turn the ignition, the AA tell me I am getting good spark to my fuel injection and spark plugs and fuel pump.

My sister in law recently bought a 51 reg Clio 1.4 16V and the other day the 'Serv' light on the instrument panel came on.

savanna ABS

Try a Gunsons Eezibleed, it uses the pressure in the spare tyre to force clean fluid through the system.
It'll be the best tenner you'll ever spend on brake tools, and stops you busting the master cylinder seals by pushing the pedal too far.

Laguna Relays

Yeah unfortunately all the relays that u can see look exactly the same and are not labelled. This might sound funny, but have you checked the tightness of the bolts securing the wiper arms on the spindle? if they are lose that will cause wipers to sort of get left in midway.

1.9 citroen TD engine in a megane 1.9?

Sounds like a very interesting project but I can see many problems ahead.
What are the actual engine models (f8Q XUD etc)? The drive shafts are likely to be a big obstacle. Citroen likely to have an intermediate shaft and Renault not.
If the Megane has an f8Q engine, it is the same as in Clio, Kangoo etc so it would be a far better idea to sell...

Laguna - spongy brakes

by Bill B » 07 Sep 2004, 05:16

Hi
A non-internet friend recently had the front pads on his Laguna diesel replaced. Now the brakes are solid when the motor is stopped but go to the floor when the motor is started. Maybe I should also mention the car was in the shop for work on the auto transmission when the pads were noted as badly worn.
The brakes have been bled several times...

Clio dash top binnacle

by Legs » 27 Aug 2004, 15:45

Sorry to bother everyone with such a mundane subject, but does anyone know how to remove the binnacle on the top of the Clio's dash that houses the digital clock and radio readout. Only mine has decided to come unstuck and is flopping around behind the dash!

1997 Megane Central Locking

by pythagoras » 23 Aug 2004, 12:42

I cannot open one of my passengers doors, centrally or manually. The door lever (?) does move but not high enough to open the door. Any ideas why one door will fail to open when all others open with central locking. As the door is locked shut, how do I get the interior door panel off from inside the car.
Thank you

Clio exhaust hanger - which one?

by Jon » 21 Aug 2004, 03:28

First post

To be honest, I don't know!
Email renault@gsfcarparts.com, Lee, the Renault Product Manager, will be able to help you I'm sure!

I need to order a rear exhaust hanger for my girlfriend's 1.2 S reg Clio (mk2) but aren't sure which one to get from GSF as there about 7 listed with different parts numbers. The rubber is square and fits into a box shaped bracket attached to a plate that bolts onto the body.
Any suggestions?

megane 1.9 diesel engine

Quite a lot of that will be labour but it still seems a little excessive to me. When an engine has suffered that kind of trauma you're right in thinking a whole new unit is the best bet.
The same engine can be found in a Renault Clio (old shape), 19, 21 (The 21 has 2 diesels- your one mounted transversely and a much bulkier one mounted...

we have a N reg megane with a broken engine. The cam belt snapped (72,000 - may have been the original) and the engine jammed. It has been examined by the garage who have quoted figures of £1000. I'm not sure of the actual damage, and how much of that would just be in labour. does anyone have a cheaper repair solution - I was thinking of replacing...
