My sister in law recently bought a 51 reg Clio 1.4 16V and the other day the 'Serv' light on the instrument panel came on.
She took it to a local garage who 'fixed it' (not sure of the details) but the light subsequently came on and then later went out again.
Can anyone suggest the likely severity of a problem indicated by this light, or does it cover a whole myriad of issues? Also, is she likely to need to take the car to a main dealer for them to interogate the ECU to find the fault, or should an independent be able to handle it?
